WORLD STUDENT’S DAY CELEBRATED AT  INDIAN SCHOOL SALALAH

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the humble man who believed youth to be one of modern India's greatest strengths, has won the hearts of millions of children as well as grown-ups alike. He had encouraged and inspired anyone who interacted with him to dream big and work hard. That is the reason why India's Missile Man and former President was seen as a role model by many people across the country. Due to his love for students and focus on promoting education, the United Nations declared his birthday (October 15) as ‘World Student’s Day’ in 2010.

Indian School Salalah celebrated the World Student’s Day on 15th October 2019, in the school Auditorium organized by the Science Department. The programme commenced with prayer song by Ms. Sanchitha and Ms.Sandrin. It was followed by the welcome address by Ms. Adithi Dileep of class IX A. Ms. Palak Padhiary of class IX B recited a beautiful Hindi poem which compares Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam to a tree.

To mark the event more lively Master Astitva Singh of class X A declamated  the inspirational speech rendered by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Ms. Meghna Jagadeep and her team took the audience into the world of great books written by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Master Nasseb Nazeer of class X C stole the heart of the audience with his beautiful Hindi song supported by Master Kiran and Ben Moses on key board and drums respectively.

Master Aakash of class IX and his team drew the special attention of the audience through a power point presentation that highlighted the exemplary life of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam. It was followed by a spectacular dance performance by AmruthaKaladhran and team.

Principal, Mr. Deepak Patankar, in his address, shared his experience when he met Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and he encouraged the students to take the best qualities of great personalities and follow it in their life to be a successful human being. All these great personalities were grounded and humble.

 Assistant vice Principal for Middle section, Mrs. Anantha Lakshmi graced the occasion with her esteemed presence. Ms. Mariyam Zaina of IX G proposed the vote of thanks.
