“No man goes about a more Godly purpose than he who is mindful of the right upbringing, not only his own but of other children.”

S/G is a game, played and enjoyed by children, boys, girls, gents, and women at all times during their lives.

A game played in nature, with nature, and one can learn from nature to use it in life. It is a game where they learn by doing. A game to learn manners, politeness, respect, and obedience.

According to Lord Baden-Powell, founder of the movement

“It is an education through S/G activities; by learning and practicing skills, one can develop his/her character to become a GOOD CITIZEN.”

During the late 19th century and the early 20th century, Lord Baden-Powell observed that young boys and girls lacked engaging activities to learn, enjoy, and grow. He noticed that children between 10 – 18 years were restless, violent, misbehaved, disrespectful to elders, lawless, rowdy, and dissatisfied. They had no knowledge or were not properly guided on the importance of life and how to enjoy life. No Knowledge HOW TO BE WORTHY HUMAN BEINGS.

The founder thought and recalled his experience of using young boy Scouts in South Africa. It was in war; he had the services of young boys in scouting enemy positions and gathering other information.

CUBBING
