Indian School Salalah celebrated Hindi Divas

Indian School Salalah celebrated Hindi Divas with the objective to rekindle the love for India’s official language among students. Hindi Divas is celebrated on 14th September as on this day in 1949, the constituent Assembly of India had adopted Hindi, written in Devnagri script, as the official language of Republic of India. Keeping this in mind the Hindi Department of Indian School Salalah organized various programmes in different levels.

Indian School Primary wing (Classes 1 & 2) celebrated this day on 16th September, 2019 with great joy and enthusiasm. Mr. Deepak Patankar, Principal, Indian School Salalah, Mrs. Reenu Davis, K. G. Incharge, Mrs. Anita Rose, Primary in charge and the Hindi teachers from Middle and Senior School graced the occasion with their presence. 

The programme started with the prayer song sung by primary choir. Master Ojas Vijay Kumbhar highlighted the importance of Hindi. A beautiful dance performance was presented by the little ones which enthralled the audience. It was followed by a group song which narrated the beauty of Hindi language. The programme concluded with the address by Mr. N. Balasubramanian, H.O.D Hindi Department. In his speech he expressed his happiness over the interest of the Indian School Students to learn Hindi as their favourite subject. Miss Ayana Ashraf of class II proposed the vote of thanks.

In the 3&4 and Middle and senior secondary section the Hindi Divas was celebrated on 14th October with great zeal. It all started with a melodious rendition of the song “Ekbaaghaiduniya, wohIshwarmaalihai…” to invoke the Almighty’s blessings, by Wafa of 4B that gave a head start to the day. Nigel and Mahi of 4 C welcomed the guests and the audience with a quote reciting in chorus, “Ekta Ki Jaan, Hindi Desh Ki Shaan.” The Acting President of SMC, Dr.Syed Ahsan Jamil, the Principal Mr. Deepak Patankar and the Assistant Vice Principal Ms. Anantalakshmi graced the occasion with their affable presence. They were welcomed by the Head of the Hindi Department Mr. Balasubramanian by pinning the Hindi Diwas badges. Gauri 4F and Alvina 3J gave an insight for the day.  Nigel 4C and Ayman 3H presented the news headlines. Word for the day was “Rashtr”. The audience were enthralled by the mesmerizing dance performance with a foot tapping number in Hindi, presented by the girls dressed in traditional attire. Anandita, Huda and Tanmay spoke about the importance of the day and the wonderful facts about the National Language. ‘Uljhan” the poem in Hindi was enunciated well by the children. Ms. PalakThakar (faculty in Hindi) further continued the programme by conducting an exciting quiz in Hindi.  All the children enthusiastically answered the questions. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Balasubramanian, HOD Hindi, expressed his gratitude and appreciated the efforts of the teachers and the participants for putting up an amazing programme within a short period.  He encouraged the children to speak in Hindi. Ms. Anita Rose, the In-charge of the Primary section applauded the hard work of the teachers and the students. She urged the students to make use of the opportunity provided to them to learn Hindi. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Huda of 3J.

The senior assembly stared with the prayer song sung by the school choir. Ms. Kruthi of class V welcomed the gathering which was followed by a thought provoking speech by Iqra of Class XI. Next number was a melodious song (Hindi HaiHindusthanki, written by Acharya Shree Vidya Sager) which described the beauty and importance of Hindi Language presented by class VII and VIII children. It was followed by a thought provoking skit which criticized the inclination of the people towards speaking foreign language.

In this occasion, the acting President, Dr. Syed Ahsan Jamil,  released the 2nd edition of  Hindi Magazine which highlighted the writing skill and creativity of the children. The celebration concluded with the vote of thanks by Miss Kanan of class VI. The entire programme was beautifully compered by Ms. Siddhi of class VI.

 As a part of Hindi Divas, Sub Junior, Junior and Senior Hindi Elocutions were organized by CCA in which students showcased their excellent oratorical skills in Hindi. The Acting President of School Management committee, Dr. Jamil, in his presidential massage, emphasized the importance of learning Hindi and  said that the Hindi is the identity of every Indian.
