CCA FEST-2024 HELD AT INDIAN SCHOOL SALALAH

The CCA Fest was inaugurated on 17th November 2024 by the Hon’ble President of the School Management Committee, Dr. Abubacker Siddique. In his inaugural address, he emphasized the role of co-curricular activities in fostering creativity, teamwork, and holistic growth, stating, “CCA Fest is a celebration of creativity, talent, and teamwork. Co-curricular activities are as vital as academics in shaping the all-around development of students.” The CCA Chairman Mr. Kumar Gopala Iyer, in his address, highlighted how these activities help uncover hidden talents, build self-confidence, and nurture essential life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and perseverance. The Fest commenced on a high note with the Western Solo Song competition for seniors, which exhibited the exceptional musical talents of the students.
Conducted in three categories—Sub-junior, Junior, and Senior—across various venues on the school campus, the Fest featured more than 50 individual and group events held over eight days, with several other events conducted earlier during different school occasions.
The much-anticipated CCA Fest for the academic year 2024-2025 at Indian School Salalah concluded with a closing ceremony on Sunday, 1st December 2024. The event marked the culmination of a vibrant series of activities that had commenced on 17th November.
Setting the tone for an inspiring and memorable event, the ceremony began with a prayer song, followed by welcome address delivered by Ethan Emmanuel Carneiro, the Deputy Cultural Secretary (Boy). The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Shaji Sreedhar, Treasurer, School Management Committee, as the chief guest, along with Mr. P. Ajith Kumar and Mr. Arun Raj, distinguished members of SMC.
Dr. Shaji Sreedhar, in his address, highlighted how co-curricular activities play a key role in shaping well-rounded individuals. He emphasized that active participation in CCA fosters personal growth, instilling the courage and confidence to face the challenges of society. The cultural program included a classical dance performance by Ameya Ajith of class VII C, which captivated the audience with its grace and precision. A melodious group song by senior students and a brilliant solo keyboard performance by Alwin Aneesh of class XI D further enriched the event.
Dr. Shaji Sreedhar, accompanied by the Principal Mr. Deepak Patankar and Vice Principal, Mr. Mammikutty presented prizes to the winners. The highlight of this segment was the announcement of the newly introduced Best Performer Award, which recognized outstanding talent in three categories: Senior, Junior, and Sub-Junior. Advaith Manoj (XI C), Aarav Malviya (VIII A), and Sreenidhi B (VI F) were proudly declared the recipients of these awards, respectively.
The ceremony concluded with vote-of-thanks proposed by Fiona Lizbeth Gibu, the Deputy Cultural Secretary (Girl). Her words aptly acknowledged the efforts of everyone involved in making the event a grand success. Overall, this year’s CCA events showcased a remarkable blend of talent, creativity, and teamwork, reflecting the school’s commitment to fostering holistic development among its students.
