CAREER COUNSELLING SESSION AND PTM FOR CLASS 10

On 3rd February 2025, Indian School Salalah organized a comprehensive Career Counselling session for Class 10 students, providing valuable insights into various career paths, followed by the Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM). The event aimed to help students make decisions about their academic and professional future. The session saw a good turnout of both parents and students.

The event commenced with a warm welcome address by the Class Coordinator, Mr. James Varghese, who thanked the attendees for their participation. The career counselling session featured four expert speakers, each discussing career opportunities in their respective fields. Mr. Unnikrishnan, Head of the Social Science Department, presented the diverse career options within the Humanities stream. Mr. Mukesh Mohan, PGT Commerce, provided valuable insights into the Commerce stream, while Ms. Bincy, PGT Physics, spoke on various avenues in the Science stream. The session was rounded off by Ms. Nida Hasan, Counselling Psychologist, who introduced students to the expanding career options, especially in the field of Psychology and its numerous career possibilities.

The Principal, Mr. Deepak Patankar, addressed the students with a motivational speech, encouraging them to focus on their studies and choose their career paths based on their interests and aptitudes. He stressed on the importance of performing well in exams while making decisions that align with one’s passion and skills. His words resonated with both students and parents, providing much-needed direction in a crucial academic year.

Following the career guidance session, the PTM for Class 10 A, B, C, and D took place from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM, giving parents the chance to meet with teachers and discuss their children’s academic progress. Simultaneously, a dedicated Career Guidance session was held for Class 10 E, F, G, and H which was anchored by the Vice Principal Mr. Mammikutty who gave an inspirational talk.

The event concluded with  vote of thanks from Mr. James Varghese, acknowledging the efforts of the speakers, the participation of parents, and the commitment of the school staff. Both the sessions were attended by Assistant Vice Principals Mr. Vipindas and Mrs. Anita Rose. The event was a resounding success, providing both students and parents with clarity and guidance for the future.
