INDIAN SCHOOL SALALAH -A MILESTONE OF GROWTH AND INNOVATION INAUGURATION OF THE THIRD FLOOR AND AIGNITE LAB

Indian School Salalah marked a significant milestone in its journey of growth, innovation, and educational excellence with the inauguration of its newly completed Third Floor and the unveiling of the commemorative plaque on 11 September 2026. The occasion was further enriched by the inauguration of the school’s state-of-the-art AIGNITE LAB, symbolising the institution’s commitment to preparing students for the opportunities and challenges of the future.
The ceremony was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Mr. Syed Ahmad Salman, Chairman, Board of Directors Indian Schools in Oman and DIC, Indian School Salalah, Dr. Syed Ahsan Jamil, President, School Management Committee, Indian School Salalah, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Jha , President Indian Social Club, Salalah, Dr. K. Sanathan, Honorary Consular Agent of the Embassy of India in Salalah, Mr. Rassal Mohammed , President, School Management Committee, Indian School Thumrait, other esteemed members of the Management, the outgoing Principal, Mr. Deepak Patankar and the newly appointed Principal Ms. Saher Sayed, Vice Principals, Mr. Mammikutty and Ms. Ambika Padmanabhan teachers, and the non- teaching staff.
Upon his arrival at the KG Block, the Chairman was warmly received by the SMC President, members of the School Management Committee and the administrative team. As part of the welcome ceremony, Master Farshad Sheriff of 3B, Miss Fatima Farhan of 2A and Master Maheshwar Siju of Grade 1B pinned a badge on the Chairman as a gesture of respect and welcome. The Chairman then inaugurated the newly constructed floor by cutting the ribbon. At his suggestion, Miss Fatima Farhan joined him in the ribbon-cutting ceremony. This was followed by the unveiling of the commemorative plaque. The newly added space is envisioned as an environment that will support learning, collaboration, creativity, and the holistic development of students.
The dignitaries then proceeded on a tour of the Primary Block, providing an opportunity to witness the learning environment and facilities that support the foundational years of the students’ educational journey. The Chairman also visited the CSE section, where the teachers welcomed him with a handmade bouquet. After interacting with staff members and visiting the newly inaugurated facilities, he proceeded to the Main Building to continue the programme.
The ceremonial proceedings continued in the school’s main block auditorium with a soulful Prayer Song, seeking the blessings of the Almighty and setting a serene and auspicious tone for the occasion. The Chief Guest, Mr. Syed Ahmad Salman, was given a floral welcome in the auditorium.
This was followed by the Presidential Address by Dr Syed Ahsan Jamil, who shared his vision and reflections on the institution’s journey and its commitment to providing quality education while upholding strong values and academic excellence. The Chief Guest, Mr. Syed Ahmad Salman, then addressed the gathering. In his address, he shared valuable insights and words of encouragement to pursue excellence, embrace new opportunities and remain committed to continuous learning.
The programme also included a Felicitation Ceremony to honour and express gratitude to Engineer Ali Ahmed Alhakeem, Wara Construction LLC, Salalah and Engineer Biji M, Babu, Tameer Engineering Consultancy Services, Salalah for their valuable guidance, professional expertise and dedicated support during the construction.
A major highlight of the event was the inauguration of the AIGNITE LAB. The AI Lab at Indian School Salalah was inaugurated by Mr. Syed Ahmad Salman. During his interaction with Mr. Mohammad Javed, HOD – Computer Science Department, he emphasized the importance of making effective use of the AI and Robotics kits.
Mr. Syed Ahmad Salman advised Mr. Javed to engage all students with the kits and encourage them to explore, experiment and try new ideas. He stressed that the lab should provide every student with opportunities for hands-on learning, creativity, innovation and problem-solving.
The inauguration of the AIGNITE LAB reflects Indian School Salalah’s vision of equipping its students with the knowledge, skills, and mindset required to thrive in a rapidly evolving world. It is envisaged as a dynamic space where imagination meets technology and where students can transform ideas into meaningful solutions.
The inauguration of the new Third Floor and AIGNITE LAB marks not merely the addition of infrastructure and technology, but the beginning of new possibilities for learning, innovation, collaboration and achievement.
