Indian School Salalah hosted its much-awaited Investiture Ceremony for the academic session 2026–2027 on the school premises on 25^th May 2026, formally inducting the newly elected Student Prefectorial Body into office. The solemn occasion marked the beginning of a new chapter of student leadership, responsibility, and service.

The ceremony reflected the school’s enduring commitment to nurturing leadership qualities among students by empowering them with responsibilities that encourage service, discipline, and teamwork. Delegating authority to students not only builds confidence but also instils values that prepare them to become compassionate and capable leaders of tomorrow.

The programme opened with an invocation seeking divine blessings, followed by the National Anthem. Miss Surya Unnikrishnan, the Deputy Head Girl, formally welcomed the gathering.

A defining moment of the event was the ceremonial handing over of the School Flag by Principal Mr. Deepak Patankar to the newly elected Head Boy, Master Rithish Sudarmani, and Head Girl, Miss Zaina Fathima. The symbolic gesture signified the transfer of trust, responsibility, and leadership to the new council. The newly appointed Boy Captains and Girl Captains of all four houses – Amber, Coral, Emerald, and Sapphire were presented with flags and placards bearing their house names by their respective House Masters and Mistresses. The ceremony further proceeded with the President of the School Management Committee, Dr. Syed Ahsan Jamil, along with Principal Mr. Deepak Patankar, conferring the badges upon the appointees of the School Student Council.

Adding grandeur to the occasion, distinguished members of the School Management Committee, Dr. Shaji P. Sreedhar (Treasurer), Dr. Sanyo Moosa (Chairman, Academic Sub-Committee), Vice Principal of the Senior Section, Mr. Mammikutty, and Vice Principal of the Middle School, Ms Ambika Padmanabhan, along with Principal Mr. Deepak Patankar, ceremonially bestowed the badges upon the house office bearers. Proud parents looked on with joy as their children stepped into positions of honour and responsibility.

The oath-taking ceremony formed one of the most inspiring segments of the programme. Administered by Principal Mr. Deepak Patankar, the oath saw the newly inducted student leaders pledge their allegiance to the school and promise to uphold its ideals with sincerity, integrity, and dedication.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Syed Ahsan Jamil, President of the School Management Committee, congratulated the council and emphasized that leadership means taking responsibility, setting examples, making wise choices, upholding values, and understanding the needs of others. He accentuated the importance of sincere and selfless service to be rendered by the school council and encouraged the students to move forward with confidence.

In his speech, Head Boy Master Rithish Sudarmani expressed his gratitude for being given the opportunity to serve the school. He also emphasized that together they would overcome any challenges and ensure that the legacy of the school would be upheld. Head Girl Miss Zaina Fathima, in her address, stressed the importance of embracing the ISSian fire, the infallible and resilient ISSian spirit. She further highlighted that the school council, with endurance, willpower, and dedication, would stand united in achieving aspirations befitting the school’s stature.

The ceremony concluded on a graceful note with the Vote of Thanks delivered by the newly inducted School Cultural Secretary Boy, Master Allan Jojo. The event left the audience inspired and reaffirmed the school’s mission of cultivating confident, responsible, and service-oriented future leaders.
