INDIAN SCHOOL SALALAH UNDER-14 FOOTBALL TEAM REPRESENTS OMAN AT CBSE NATIONALS IN INDIA

September 18, 2025

The Under-14 football team from Indian School Salalah recently completed a remarkable and challenging journey, representing the CBSE Oman Chapter (Foreign Cluster 3) at the National Football Championship held in Bhopal, India, from 3rd to 12th September 2025. The excitement began with their well-deserved victory at the CBSE Oman Cluster Championship in Muscat, a win that earned them a spot on the national stage. They went to India as champions, carrying with them the hopes and pride of our entire school community.

The boys played five matches, but it wasn’t just a battle against other teams—it was a fight against the very ground they played on. The pitches were a swamp of muck and water, making it almost impossible to move. Players’ boots would sink into the mud, and the ball would behave unpredictably, turning every pass and shot into a true test of will.

In their opening match against People’s Public School, the boys fought hard but couldn’t overcome the harsh conditions, losing 2-0. They faced another strong team in Aster Public School, and despite their persistent efforts, the result was a 3-0 loss. The third match, against Delhi Public School, was closely contested. The team showed tactical discipline and resilience throughout the game, though the final score stood at 2–0.

Their hard work finally paid off in the fourth match against ODM Public School. The team showed fantastic teamwork and adaptability, earning a hard-fought 0-0 draw and securing their first point. In their final game against Toc H. Public School, they gave it their all. They dominated possession and created chances, but a single goal in a difficult moment led to a narrow 1-0 loss.

Throughout the tournament, our boys’ performance went far beyond the final scores. Their true victory wasn’t on the scoreboard; it was in their unwavering spirit. They never once let the muddy, challenging conditions break their resolve. The grit and composure they showed under pressure were nothing short of inspiring.

The team officials were full of praise, not for the results, but for the character and adaptability the boys displayed. This experience has given them invaluable lessons in resilience and sportsmanship that will serve them for a lifetime.

The school extends a huge thank you to all the parents, staff, and students who supported them throughout their incredible journey. Indian School Salalah continues to foster excellence in both academics and sports, and the Under-14 team’s participation at the CBSE Nationals stands as a proud symbol of the school’s commitment to holistic development and sporting spirit.
