REPORT OF SCIENCE CLUB ACTIVITIES – OCTOBER 2019

The first Science club activity for the academic year 2019- 2020 for the Middle school was organized on 12 October 2019.  Science Club Activities were held in three different classes which started at 8.10 am and concluded at 10.00am. 95   Club members attended the session. With help of our In-charge Mrs. Prema and Middle school teachers the session started.

   Class V and VI:  Science club activities for class V started with the power point presentation,  “You are what you eat” by Mrs. Kavitha Sunil  followed by “How to make  the skeleton of leaves”  by Mrs. Archana.   Class VI Club activities started with a Power point presentation by Mrs.Meena.K.C.   Activity done by the Classes V and VI club member was Studying the types of leaf venation in plants under the guidance of  Mrs. Prema , Mrs. Sindhu Gopal and Mrs.Kavitha ( For class V) and  Mrs. Meena,     Mrs. Anupama, Mrs.Subha and Mrs. Vidhya ( Class VI). Students observed the leaves given to them, recorded their observation in the data record sheet and made the impression of leaves on a paper as well as on the clay.

Students actively participated in the activities with a great enthusiasm. They were asked to make and bring the skeleton of leaf on the next club day.

  Class VII and VIII: Science club activities started with the introduction of  Bhor’s  atom model by Mrs. Maya Nobin ,followed by  making an atom model of Oxygen under the guidance of Mrs .Maya Nobin and Mrs. Renuka Dileep. Demonstration of experiments was conducted by Mrs. Maya Nobin and Mr. Sam. T. Varghese.

   Today’s club activities were concluded by a motivational skit performed by class VIII children.

 At the end Mrs. Maya Nobin informed the children about the “Sid -The Smart Kid” award for two most promising and actively participating club members. Next month’s Club activity- Collage making Competition and the topics were announced by Mrs.Archana.
