INDIAN SCHOOL SALALAH ORGANIZES VALEDICTORY CEREMONY FOR CLASS XII BATCH 2024-’25

The much-awaited Valedictory Ceremony for the Class XII students of Indian School Salalah was held with grandeur and splendid ambience on 1st February 2025 on the lush green campus of the school. This annual event served as a solemn farewell to the graduating batch, recognizing their academic achievements and commemorating their time at the institution. The occasion was graced by Dr. Abubacker Siddique, President, School Management Committee, esteemed members of the School Management Committee, distinguished guests, Principal, Mr. Deepak Patankar, Vice Principal, Mr. Mammikutty and Assistant. Vice Principals Mr. Vipin das and Mrs. Anita Rose, HODs, teachers, parents and the gorgeous valedictorians.
The auspicious ceremony commenced with the marching of the students of all the six sections in their elegant graduation gowns with their class teachers along with Principal, President and esteemed members of School Management Committee and Admins clad in the ceremonial gowns, to the seats assigned for them. The entire atmosphere resonated with the prayer song, invoking the blessings of the Almighty, followed by the sacred tradition of lighting the lamp, symbolizing gratitude for the abundance that Almighty has bestowed. Vice Principal Mr. Mammikutty accorded a cordial welcome to the august gathering.
Addressing the audience on the occasion, Principal, Mr. Deepak Patankar advised the young graduating students to set their goals by themselves and work hard to chase their goals. He also emphasised that dedication, determination and hard work will help them to achieve success. At the end of his speech, he showered his blessings on the students to be victorious in all their future endeavours and also wished them good luck for their forthcoming board exams.
Dr. Abubacker Siddique, President, School Management Committee, in his address appreciated the Principal, Admin team and the teaching faculty for the tireless effort put in to help the students achieve success. He insisted the students to carry the legacy of their school with pride. He advised the students not to forget that they are embarking on a journey, where their potential has no bounds.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Muhammed Yousuf Ismail, Academic Chairman, School Management Committee highlighted that students must be very selective in receiving information as they are living in the era of information explosion. He also stressed that there are two dimensions of seeking knowledge- knowledge for studying and knowledge for learning. He asked students to trust themselves and accentuated that their success and destiny lies in their hands.
It was followed by the honouring of the valedictorians marking the most significant moment of the ceremony. The President of the School Management Committee Dr. Abubacker Siddique along with the esteemed members of the committee, Principal Mr. Deepak Patankar, Admins and class teachers presented the students with mementos and printed citations. The English teachers of class XII and Computer Science faculty played a pivotal role in preparing and presenting remarkable citations for all the 204 valedictorians.
On this momentous occasion, the Head boy Mast. Muhammed Shamlal and the Head girl Miss. Alqama spoke with great sincerity, expressing their deep gratitude towards the institution for nurturing their holistic development. As they are prepared to step into a new chapter of their lives, they felt a sense of optimism about the future, yet sadness at the thought of leaving behind the school that had shaped their formative years. The academic topper of the Science stream, Mast. Vishal Ganesh, topper of the Commerce stream Mast. Aashick Magesh and the topper of Humanities stream Miss. Shrinethra Muthukumaran shared their nostalgic reminiscences of their pleasant days they spent at Indian School Salalah. They also reflected on their journey, recalling their transformation from shy, uncertain students to confident individuals, now ready to embrace the challenges of the world.
The event also showcased the musical performances by the teachers. Dr. Soumya Sanathanan, Faculty, Department of Music mesmerized the audience with her enchanting and vibrant singing. The melodious group song by the teachers infused the ceremony with energy and joy, beautifully capturing the spirit and enthusiasm of the educators.
The ceremony concluded with a memorable class photograph of the valedictorians along with the President and esteemed members of the School Management Committee, Principal, administrative staff, subject teachers, and class teachers. The event was expertly compered by Mrs. Nisha Josy, Class Coordinator of Grade XII, along with the class XII class teachers. The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Sunit Garg, Faculty, Science Department. The evening was wrapped up with a scrumptious dinner, providing a perfect opportunity for comradeship among all attendees.
