INDIAN SCHOOL SALALAH COMPUTER SCIENCE DEPARTMENT OBSERVED WORLD COMPUTER SECURITY DAY

The Computer Science Department of Indian School Salalah observed World Computer Security Day on 15 December 2025 with the aim of creating awareness among students about cyber security, digital safety and responsible use of technology.

The programme began with a welcome address by Kristina Elsa Deepak (XI-E) and Parvathi Unnikat (XI-E), who emphasized the importance of staying safe in the digital world.

A skit titled “Scammed, Shamed, Secured” highlighting various online scams, their consequences, and the importance of cyber awareness was presented by students of Class XI-E and XI-G. Participants: Kristina Elsa Deepak (XI-G), Shaker (XI-G), Advaith Rajesh (XI-G), Shidin Sujil Bisna (XI-G), Aliya Basheer (XI-E), Aadishree Dubey (XI-E), Muhammed Umar Ubaiyadullah (XI-G), Adhil Bin Siraj (XI-E).

A presentation on “Digital Defence 24×7” was delivered by students focusing on continuous digital protection, safe browsing habits, and cyber hygiene. Presenters: Afrah Ashique (XI-B), Khadija Binte Azad Mazumder (XI-D), Paul Grace (XI-D).

An interactive quiz session was conducted to engage students and assess their understanding of cyber safety concepts. Participants: Paranveer Singh (IX-D), Arjandeep Singh (IX-E), Aarav Malviya (IX-C), Aaditya Bhuvan Chandra (IX-A).

A live demonstration on Wi-Fi hacking was conducted to educate students about network vulnerabilities and the importance of securing wireless connections. Presenters: Abhinand Dayapal Vattekat (IX-F), Joshua Sunil Thomas (IX-H), Nithin Srinivasan (IX-H).

A video showcasing the STAI 2025 – Build a Bot Challenge was displayed. The team took on a unique mission and designed a Seed Ball Planter Robot, envisioned as a smart farming assistant. They secured an A+ grade and bagged the Ecobot Sustainability Award,. Participants: Aruchelvan Egan Abraham (VII-C), Mohammed Shazain (VII-C), Muhammad Falaah (VI-G), Asim Waeil Hashem (VI-G).

The Innovatex segment showcased innovative ideas and projects related to technology and cyber security. Presenters: Adit Madhav (IX-D), Prattyush Dwivedi (X-D).

A skit titled “Virtual Arrest” was presented, highlighting cyber frauds and the dangers of virtual arrest scams. Participants: Khadija Binte Azad Mazumder (XI-D), Rithish Sudarmani (XI-B), Shazia Fathima (XI-D), Anna Abraham (XI-D), Aysha Nahala Ambalathuveetil Navas (XI-D), Bibi Rabaa (XI-D).

The programme concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Mohammad Javed, HOD – Computer Science, who expressed gratitude to the management, Event coordinator Ms Purnima Santosh, department teachers, students, and support staff for their support. The Principal, Mr. Deepak Patankar, along with other admins, appreciated the Computer Science Department for organizing such a useful and informative event.
