INDIAN SCHOOL SALALAH CELEBRATES CHILDREN’S DAY

Indian School Salalah celebrated Children's Day with great enthusiasm. Children’s Day is celebrated in India on 14th November every year. It marks the birth anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who was a great advocate for children’s rights and education. The day was marked with vibrant celebration filled with performances, speeches, and activities aimed at making children feel special. The occasion was graced by Principal Mr Deepak Patankar, Vice Principal Mr. Mammikutty, Assistant Vice Principals Mr Vipin Das and Mrs. Anita Rose.
The Children’s day celebration at Kindergarten was organized by the teachers. The programme began with a magical entrance by Cinderella, followed by a speech highlighting the importance of Children’s Day. The excitement continued with a lively fashion show performed by the teachers. Teachers sang songs and adding to the joy, two teachers dressed up as Batman and Mickey Mouse, much to the delight of the children. The highlight of the event was an energetic dance performance by students from the wellness center.
A special assembly was organized by the teachers of classes I and II for the students. After the prayer, Ms. Jalaja, a faculty member from the Science Department, dressed up as Jawaharlal Nehru and delivered a speech to the students about the importance of Children’s Day. A group of teachers performed a lively enactment of the fairy tale "Hansel and Gretel" and also served as the event's comperes. Following the dance, the teachers treated the students to a delightful musical performance. They sang a melodious Hindi song celebrating childhood, unity, and dreams. In the final segment, all the teachers came together to walk the ramp to an upbeat, catchy tune, wishing the students a "Happy Children’s Day." They held beautifully crafted cards, adding a personal and heartfelt touch to the celebration. The day’s classroom activities kicked off with the colouring session, followed by an energetic round of musical chairs, in which the students participated with great enthusiasm and excitement.
The celebration for Classes III and IV began with a prayer. Ms. Sunita then shared the 'Thought for the Day,' inspiring the students. This was followed by an insightful presentation on the importance of healthy eating, delivered by Ms. Jayasree, Ms. Sunita, and Ms. Shaheen. The event concluded with an uplifting affirmation from Ms. Subhasree, who dressed as Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, left the students with a sense of positivity and encouragement. The programme beautifully captured the spirit of the occasion, with the teachers taking center stage and presenting captivating dance performances for the children. The event began with a fusion dance, performed by a group of teachers. This was followed by another enthralling performance, "Old is Gold," by another group of teachers. The subject teachers organized a variety of engaging classroom activities for the day.
A special assembly was conducted for the students of classes V to VIII to celebrate Children’s day. The assembly was led by the students of Class V, who presented an impressive range of performances. The programme began with a prayer, followed by the 'Thought for the Day' and the news headlines. Melodious songs in both English and Hindi captivated the audience. Mast. Rohan of Class V A and Kushagara of Class V B delivered the speech in Hindi, while Mast. Harish of Class V H and Miss. Prateeksha of Class V B spoke in English. The highlight of the event was the vibrant dance performance by the students of Class V.
The much-awaited release of the class magazines took place, marking a significant milestone in the academic and creative journey of the students. The official release of the Class VIII magazine was carried out by the school Vice Principal, Mr. Mammikutty. The Class VII magazine was unveiled by Ms. Anita Rose, Assistant Vice Principal, while the magazines for Classes V and VI were released by Mr. Vipin Das, Assistant Vice Principal. The magazine featured a blend of creative writing, illustrations, pictures, and thought-provoking articles. The student representatives from each class proudly received the class magazine.
Vice Principal, Mr. Mammikutty praised the students for their efforts and highlighted that their achievements offered valuable examples for others to follow and draw inspiration from. Assistant Vice Principal, Mr. Vipin Das commended their creativity and urged them to continue exploring their potential. He highlighted that the class magazine not only celebrated the diverse talents of the students but also strengthened the spirit of unity and collaboration among them. Assistant Vice Principal, Ms. Anita Rose expressed her gratitude to the teachers for their unwavering commitment and hard work in making the celebration truly memorable for the students.
The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
