INDIAN SCHOOL SALALAH STRIKES GOLD: U-14 CROWNED CBSE OMAN CLUSTER FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS!
Indian School Salalah’s U-14 football team delivered an outstanding performance at the recent CBSE Oman Cluster Football Tournament held at Indian School Muladha, winning the championship after an exciting tournament run. The victory, along with impressive displays by the U-17 and U-19 teams, has brought great pride to the school.
The U-14 team delivered a flawless campaign, starting with a commanding 8–1 victory over Indian School Ibra, followed by a 4–0 win against Indian School Muscat. In the semi-final, they defeated Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir 2–0, securing a spot in the final.
The team clinched the championship in a gripping final against Indian School Darsait, with a final score of 5-4 in a sudden-death penalty shootout. Principal Deepak Patankar proudly stated that this victory has brought “glory to Indian School Salalah”.
Individual accolades further boosted the team’s success. Master Yajath of Class 8B received the Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament award for his outstanding reflexes and composure. Master Omar Abdullah of Class 8A was named Top Scorer, having consistently scored match-winning goals throughout the tournament.
The U-19 team also made a significant impact. Entering directly into the second round, they demonstrated exceptional skill, reaching the semi-finals after a decisive 3-1 victory over Indian School Ibri. Their semi-final was a hard-fought battle against Indian School Al Ghubra, ending in a 0-0 draw, with the team losing 5-4 in a close penalty shootout. This match was considered one of the most intense of the tournament. In the U-17 category, the team showed remarkable resilience despite a tough start, drawing 2-2 against Indian School Ibra before narrowly losing 4-3 in a penalty shootout
