INDIAN SCHOOL SALALAH WINS SECOND POSITION IN DHOFAR UNIVERSITY-7TH SCIENCE FAIR FOR HIGH SCHOOL

Students of Indian School Salalah took part in the7th Science Fair for High School conducted at Dhofar University-Salalah, competing in three different domains. The school achieved remarkable success by securing the Overall Second Position in the event.
Highlights of the Event
In the Computer Science domain, a team of Class X students—Joshua Sunil Thomas, Nithin Srinivasan, and Adrian Ninzo Thomas—presented an innovative and future-oriented project titled “Teacher Bot – A Complete Teaching Companion.” The project was designed as an intelligent educational assistant to support both teachers and students in the learning process. It was developed using Python, ensuring flexibility and scalability, and integrated Text-to-Speech (TTS) Intelligence to enable interactive and accessible learning experiences.
A key highlight of the project was the use of Generative AI tools (GPT-based models), which allowed the bot to simulate real-time teaching support by answering queries, explaining concepts, and enhancing student engagement. The project focused on improving the effectiveness of classroom teaching through AI-driven interaction and personalized learning. The team demonstrated excellent technical skills, creativity, and practical application of modern technologies. Under the guidance of Mohammed Javed (HOD) and Shiny Miracle, the team secured the First Position.
In the Biology domain, the project “BIO-BRIDGE” was presented by Thayaba, Priyadharshini M, and Hanna Elsa Alex of Class XI under the guidance of Mrs. Sandhya Somasekaran, securing the Second Position.
In the Chemistry domain, the project “Electrolysis & Fuel Cell Propulsion in Rocketry” was presented by Muhammed Faizan Firoz, Aditya Bhuwan Chandra, and Joseph Jose of Class X under the supervision of Mr. Sunit Garg, securing the Third Position.
Both projects were carried out under the overall supervision of Mr. Shinoj Thomas (HOD – Science).
President SMC Dr. Syed Ahsan Jamil, along with the entire School Management Committee and Principal Mr. Deepak Patankar, congratulated the students and the respective departments for their commendable achievement.
