BIDS ADIEU TO CLASS XII BATCH 2025-26 WITH VALEDICTORY CEREMONY
The Valedictory Ceremony stood as a symbolic gateway to new horizons, marking the transition of students into an exciting phase of their lives. With an air of dignity and solemnity, Indian School Salalah hosted the Valedictory function for its outgoing Class XII batch on Monday, 19 January 2026, within the school premises. The event unfolded in a ceremonious atmosphere, graced by Dr. Syed Ahsan Jamil, President of the School Management Committee, along with esteemed members of the SMC, distinguished guests, Principal, Mr. Deepak Patankar, Vice Principal Mr. Mammikutty, AVPs, Dr. Vipindas and Mrs. Anita Rose, dedicated teachers, proud parents, and the radiant valedictorians themselves.
The ceremony unfolded with grandeur as Class XII students, attired in graceful graduation gowns, marched in procession alongside their class teachers. They were accompanied by the Principal, the President, distinguished members of the School Management Committee, and administrators, all resplendent in ceremonial robes, as they took their designated seats. The ambience was soon elevated by a soulful prayer song that invoked divine blessings, creating an aura of reverence. This was followed by the sanctified ritual of lamp lighting, a gesture symbolizing gratitude for the Almighty’s benevolence and the light of knowledge. Extending warmth and hospitality, Vice Principal Mr. Mammikutty delivered a heartfelt welcome to the distinguished gathering.
The honouring of the valedictorians formed the highlight of the evening, marking the most cherished moment of the ceremony. In a gesture of recognition and pride, Dr. Syed Ahsan Jamil, President of the School Management Committee, its esteemed members, Principal Mr. Deepak Patankar, admins, and class teachers, bestowed mementos and citations upon the graduating students. The preparation of these eloquent citations was meticulously undertaken by the English faculty of Class XII alongside the Computer Science department, ensuring that each valedictorian received a tribute that celebrated their individuality and accomplishments.
The Principal, Mr. Deepak Patankar, in his valedictory address, reflected on the significance of the occasion as a moment of mixed emotions—pride, joy, and a gentle sense of farewell. He reminded the students that true success is not measured merely by marks or positions, but by the values they inculcate. Urging the graduates to serve society with passion and commitment, he highlighted that education finds its highest purpose in service to humanity. Concluding his speech, the Principal extended his heartfelt wishes to the outgoing batch, encouraging them to give their best in the forthcoming Board Examinations.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Syed Ahsan Jamil, President, School Management Committee, emphasized three guiding pillars for students: to serve the nation with dedication, to value parents for their sacrifices, and to respect teachers who continually guide and nurture the best within each learner. Before leaving the podium, he offered blessings and wished the graduates success in pursuing courses that align with their aspirations after Class XII.
The felicitation of Dr. Rakesh Jha, President of the Indian Social Club, Salalah who is widely recognized for his outstanding contributions to social service and his humanitarian endeavors was carried out by the President of the School Management Committee Dr. Syed Ahsan Jamil and Principal Mr. Deepak Patankar together with its esteemed members. Adding to his distinguished profile, Dr. Jha has been recently conferred with his Ph.D. degree, a milestone that further exemplifies his dedication to knowledge and service.
During the ceremony, the academic toppers of all three streams—Mast. Dennison Toms George (Science), Mast. Levin Joseph Thomas (Commerce), and Ms. Afnan (Humanities)—shared their experiences with the audience. They described the school as their second home, a place that shaped their character and prepared them for life. Expressing heartfelt gratitude, they affirmed that their achievements are not theirs alone, but a collective success made possible through the sacrifices of their parents and the dedication of their teachers.
The Head Boy, Master Nouman Ahmed spoke in his graduating tribute about the journey of students, recalling their transition from tiny tots in the primary section to confident young adults at the senior secondary level. He acknowledged the role of teachers at every stage—who shaped their learning and growth. The Head Girl, Miss. Fathima C. Mansoor noted the relentless effort that brought the batch to this academic milestone. She remarked how swiftly time has passed, bringing them to the close of a significant chapter in their schooling.
The faculty rendered a stirring Motivational Song that brought liveliness and charm to the event. The high school rock band, featuring talented juniors and seniors, delivered an electrifying performance that was a highlight for the graduating valedictorians. As the programme drew to a close, the President and distinguished members of the SMC, the Principal, admins, subject teachers, and the class teacher joined the valedictorians for group photographs. The event was compered by Mrs. Renu Jethin, Class Coordinator of Grade XII, along with the class XII class teachers. The ceremony was formally brought to a close with vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Prema Gopalakrishnan, Senior Biology faculty. The evening drew to an end with a delightful dinner.
