INDIAN SCHOOL SALALAH PRIMARY SECTION-(AY2025-26)- CLASSES 3 AND 4 REPORT ON WORLD SCIENCE DAY
The World Science Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm to highlight the role of science in our daily lives and to create curiosity among students. The Science Department in coordination with CCA organized a special assembly to mark the occasion, featuring a variety of activities and demonstrations.
The Assistant Vice Principal Mrs Anita Rose, Head of the Science Department, Mr. Shinoj and the Subject in charge, Mrs. Subha graced the occasion with their presence.
The program began with a brief introduction about the significance of World Science Day. This was followed by a song presented by the students of Class 3H, emphasizing the importance of science and innovation in shaping our future.
Next, teachers conducted a series of interesting science demonstrations which included the lava lamp experiment showing the concept of density, a lemon sinking in water to explain buoyancy, a fire extinguisher experiment using baking soda and vinegar to demonstrate the production of carbon dioxide gas, the pepper and water experiment, explaining surface tension and how soap breaks it. and an egg being sucked into a bottle to illustrate air pressure. Each demonstration, helped the students understand scientific principles in a fun and engaging way. The program concluded with the National Anthem.
A science themed badge-making activity was organized for the students of classes 3 and 4. They created colourful, science-themed badges to express their creativity and enthusiasm for learning. The Science Club organized hands on activity based on air pressure for the students.
The celebration was both educational and enjoyable, successfully sparking the scientific curiosity among the students.
