INDIAN SCHOOL SALALAH CELEBRATES UNITED NATIONS DAY

United Nations Day is celebrated annually on 24th October, marking the anniversary of the founding of the United Nations in 1945. The day promotes global awareness, unity, and international cooperation, addressing challenges such as peace, human rights, equality, and sustainable development. It highlights the UN’s role in conflict resolution, humanitarian efforts, and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while inspiring students to understand civic responsibility, cultural understanding, and the importance of working together for a just, peaceful, and sustainable world.

Indian School Salalah celebrated UN Day on 26th October 2025 in the school auditorium with great enthusiasm. The event focused on the six principal organs of the United Nations—the General Assembly, Security Council, Economic and Social Council, International Court of Justice, Secretariat, and Trusteeship Council—and their role in promoting global peace, justice, and cooperation. A key focus was on educational systems around the world, with student delegates delivering presentations that highlighted education as a universal right, a driver of development, and a tool for fostering global understanding.

The event commenced with a welcome address by Miss Maria, followed by Master Mohammed Abdul Hakeem, who, in the role of Secretary-General, introduced the six principal organs of the United Nations.

Key highlights of the presentations included:
