INDIAN SCHOOL SALALAH COMPUTER SCIENCE DEPARTMENT ENHANCES DIGITAL TEACHING SKILLS OF TEACHERS

The Computer Science Department successfully conducted a series of training sessions on CANVA, AI Apps, VLE, and Cyber Awareness for teachers from Grades I to XII, aimed at enhancing their digital teaching skills and familiarizing them with modern educational tools.

CANVA Training – Ms. Purnima Santosh (23.09.2025)

This session was attended by teachers handling Grades VI and VIII. Ms. Purnima Santosh provided an in-depth overview of Canva, highlighting both basic and advanced features. She demonstrated how teachers can use Canva to create engaging teaching materials, worksheets, presentations, and visual aids. She also explained the newly introduced features that can save time and improve the visual appeal of classroom content. Teachers were encouraged to explore Canva’s tools to make their lessons more interactive and visually appealing for students.

AI Applications Training – Ms. Shiny Miracle (24.09.2025 & 01.10.2025)

Conducted for teachers handling Grades I, II, and IX to XII, this session focused on the practical use of AI-powered tools for educational purposes. Ms. Shiny Miracle introduced various AI applications that can assist teachers in creating worksheets, quizzes, and question papers efficiently. She also showcased how AI can be leveraged for personalized learning and time management. The session emphasized practical demonstrations, allowing teachers to directly apply these tools to their respective subjects.

VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) Training – Mr. Nandakumar K (25.09.2025)

This session was designed for newly joined teachers to help them navigate and utilize the school’s VLE effectively. Mr. Nandakumar K explained the process of creating classes, adding students, and uploading academic content such as lesson plans, assignments, and learning resources. He also discussed how teachers can track student progress and communicate effectively within the platform, ensuring a smooth online learning experience.

Cyber Awareness Training – Ms. J Anita Rose (28.09.2025 & 29.09.2025)

This session was designed for female teachers handling Grades III to XIII and focused on the responsible and safe use of digital platforms and social media. Ms. Anita Rose highlighted common online threats, strategies to maintain digital safety, and ways to guide students in responsible internet use. The session also included discussions on cyber ethics, privacy settings, and creating awareness about potential online risks.

Overall, these training sessions were highly interactive and practical, enabling teachers to adopt digital tools and technologies in their teaching practices. The sessions have equipped teachers with the necessary skills to enhance student engagement, streamline content preparation, and promote safe and effective use of technology in education.
