SCHOOL MANAGEMENT OF IS SALALAH HONOURS ITS TEACHERS ON TEACHERS’ DAY

“Teachers are the architects of society, shaping generations through knowledge and values.”
Teachers’ Day, observed on 5th September each year, marks the birth anniversary of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan – a distinguished teacher, philosopher, and former President of India. To commemorate this special occasion, the School Management Committee of Indian School Salalah organised a grand celebration on Friday, 19th September 2025, at Hotel Hamdan Plaza, honouring the invaluable contributions of its teachers.
The evening began with a warm welcome address by Mr. Musab Jamal Mohiaddin, Chairman of the IT Sub-committee, SMC. He highlighted the vital role of teachers as guiding lights who not only impart knowledge but also nurture discipline, values, and confidence in students.
Dr. Syed Ahsan Jamil, honourable President of the School Management Committee, extended heartfelt wishes to the staff on the occasion. He remarked that teaching, though involving challenges, is a noble calling that demands knowledge, perseverance, and dedication. He further added that teachers make countless sacrifices to shape the nation’s future leaders.
Principal Mr. Deepak Patankar expressed his gratitude to the SMC for hosting the celebration. He acknowledged the challenges teachers face, especially in board classes, and encouraged them to adopt innovative teaching strategies to make learning more engaging and enjoyable for students.
The felicitation ceremony was the highlight of the evening. Teachers were honoured for their outstanding contributions, beginning with the NABET team, led by Mr. Binoy C. A. as the Accreditation Co-ordinator along with Deputy Co-ordinators and Process Owners. This was followed by the recognition of Class Co-ordinators from Kindergarten to Grade XII for the academic session 2024–2025. Certificates were presented by the SMC President, Dr. Syed Ahsan Jamil and other esteemed members in the committee accompanied by Principal, Mr. Deepak Patankar.
The cultural programme added colour and joy to the celebration. It began with a captivating song by Mr. Parvinder Singh, followed by a lively fusion dance by grade I and II teachers. The teachers then presented a melodious group song. A graceful folk dance by Mr. Saji, a heartfelt solo by Mr. Ishwar Deshmukh, and a nostalgic performance titled “Retro to Metro” by teachers of grades V to XII captivated the audience. Mr.Rajkumar entertained the audience with his mimicry. The cultural events concluded on a harmonious note with a duet song by Mr. Hareesh K. P. and Mrs. Sangeetha Hareesh.
Adding to the merriment were fun-filled games such as Number Knockout, Lucky Phone Call, Lucky Photo in Wallet, Lucky Maximum Zeros, and the lively Emoji Express – Super Seven. These activities conducted by Mr.Parvinder and CCA team created an atmosphere of laughter, surprise, and enthusiastic participation.
The celebration was well carried out by the dedicated efforts of Vice Principal Mr. Mammikutty and Assistant Vice-principals Dr. Vipindas and Mrs. Anita Rose, whose involvement and support added greatly to the success of the event. Alongside, the CCA team, headed by Mr. Mukesh Mohan and Mrs. Tabassum Farhan, ensured the seamless execution of the programme.
The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Chidambaram Ramasamy, HOD of the English Department, who reflected on the significance of the day while reminding everyone of Cicero’s words: ‘Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues but the parent of all others.’ The evening came to a warm close with a sumptuous dinner, giving everyone an opportunity to share joy, fellowship, and memories together.
