INDIAN SCHOOL SALALAH WINS SILVER IN U-14& U17 BOYS AT CBSE OMAN CLUSTER HANDBALL TOURNAMENT 2025–26

Indian School Salalah finished runners up in U-14& U17 Boys at CBSE Oman Cluster Handball Tournament 2025–26 hosted by Indian School Al Seeb on 12th and 13th August 2025. The two-day event, held on the school grounds, brought together talented teams from CBSE-affiliated schools across Oman. Indian School Salalah participated in both the Under-14 and Under-17 boys’ categories. All the matches were played on a knockout basis.

A total of seven schools vied for the championship trophy in the Under-14 Boys category in which Indian School Salalah made a promising debut. After a close victory over Indian School Darsait in the quarterfinals, they delivered a dominant performance against Indian School Muscat in the semifinals, defeating ISM with a commanding score of 8–1. The final match was a challenging encounter against the host school, Indian School Al Seeb. Despite a valiant effort, our team fell short with a score of 4–10, securing the Runner-Up position in the Under-14 category.

In the under -17 Boys’ category, 9 teams participated in the tournament. The Under-17 boys’ team began the tournament with a strong win against Indian School Ghubra by 8-1 followed by a nail-biting semifinal against Indian School Darsait, in which our boys won by a narrow margin. In the final, they faced Indian School Al Seeb in a gripping contest. Although they were unable to clinch the championship, their spirited performance earned the U-17 team the runner-up title.

The girls’ team participated in the Under-14 category, which featured eight competing teams.  They faced tough opponents but displayed exceptional hard work, discipline, and fighting spirit throughout.

Indian School Salalah proudly secured   Runner-Up trophy in the Under-14 and Under-17 Boys’ category in the tournament. This remarkable achievement was made possible through the unwavering dedication and hard work of all the players and the expert guidance and tireless efforts of the coaches, Mr. Ishwar Deshmukh and Ms. Manisha Nadipalli. The President of SMC Dr. Syed Ahsan Jamil, members of SMC, Principal Mr. Deepak Patankar and the entire school community congratulated the players and coaches for their outstanding efforts.
