INDIAN SCHOOL SALALAH SOLEMNIZES VALEDICTORY CEREMONY FOR ITS OUTGOING BATCH 2019


Indian School Salalah solemnised its Annual Valedictory Ceremony for the outgoing batch of grade XIIstudents at 7 pm in the school premises on Thursday, 14 February 2019.Prof. (Dr.) Syed Ahsan Jamil, Acting President and other esteemed members of  SMC graced the occasion with their august presence.
Mr. T. R. Brown, Principal, the Admin, Heads of Departments, In-charges, teachers and parents also joined in the proceedings. 
The proud and happy graduating class XII students with Acting President, Principal and Mr. Jose K. Chacko, Chairman, Academic Sub-committee clad in their ceremonial graduation gowns walked downthe stunning valediction venue.
Marking the beginning of the function, Mrs. Rachel A, faculty, English accorded a cordial welcome to the august gathering. To add more solemnity, the auspicious lighting of the lamp was done by the Acting President, Principal, Chairman, Academic Sub-committee, Mr.Vinay Kumar, Convenor and Mr.Sanjeev Singh, Treasurer.
Mr. Jose K. Chacko, Chairman, Academic Sub-committee addressed the students and wished them success and prosperity in all their future pursuits. Sharing personal life and opinion on his teachers, Mr. Jose asked students to get in touch with their teachers as they have been instrumental in their progress. He also urged them to hold teachers in high respect throughout their life.
Dr. Syed Ahsan Jamil, Acting President, advised students to enjoy the freedom once they go out of school. Encouraging them to think about the challenges and relish the great journey of life, Dr. Jamil spoke about the essence of life. He further asked them to believe in themselves, do things that make them feel good and choose a career that makes them happy and successful.
Mr. T. R. Brown, Principal also addressed the gathering and stressed on the role played by school admins, teachers and parents to make students face the difficult situations and challenges in life. Sharing the situation that helped all to overcome the doubts and difficulties, the Principal clarified what really schooling does. He furthermore quoted Rabindranath Tagore’s thought-provoking “Where the Mind Is Without Fear” and advised students to live a life that they can be proud of.
The centre of attraction was the auspicious Candle Lighting Ceremony where in students from their beloved Principal lighted candles symbolic of wisdom that dispels ignorance. The Acting President and his colleagues in SMC felicitated the out-going students with mementos and citations. Meanwhile Mr. C. T. Ramasamy, AVP (Senior) and faculty, English, Mrs. Rachel A, Mr. Royi T. A. and Mrs. Tabassum F. (Faculties, English) read out citations. A melodious ‘felicitation song’ by Music Department added charm and beauty to the occasion.
The valued parent, Mr. Reginald H. J. Rosario in his address expressed his sense of gratitude to the management, the principal and the staff for their dedicated services and endearing efforts that help in facilitating, improving, and promoting not only the academic progress of students but their all-round development. 
With a sense of pride, the outgoing students shared their most cherished and unforgettable moments that they attended at Indian School Salalah. Master Sourabh Singh (Head Boy), Miss. Maria Beryl Jobis (Head Girl) and Master Darin Peter Carvalhoexpressed their gratitude to all those who are associated with the school for providing them the best opportunities for their all-inclusive well-being.
Mrs. Tabassum F, faculty, English proposed vote of thanks which marked the end of the ceremony. 
It was an added attraction and a treat to the audience to see their young valedictorians throwing the caps in adherence to the rich tradition of graduation ceremonies. It was then followed by the photo session and a delectable dinner.
