Principal's Message
Indian School Salalah

"Education" the word conjures up different things in the minds of different people for it depends usually on what they have entitled that for life. Education is that fine line beyond which the horizon stretches holding all the potential of growth.

To learn, to be guided and to be open to each experience and extract the best and leave out the rest and strike on – that is the essence we seek to infuse in the students of our school.

The overall development of the body mind and souls is the mission. The approach is child centric because we believe that every child has his/her individuality.

The culture of the school and vision of the school and teacher's way of life will imbibe the development of the five minds among the students.

The curriculum will not be textbook driven or fragmented, but will be thematic, project based and integrated, skills and context shall not be taught as an end in themselves, but students shall learn them through their research and application in their projects. Textbook shall be just one of the many resources.

Students will be motivated to achieve higher levels of learning in all content areas from science to maths, environment to cultural and nutrition.

The school and the community shall have a unidirectional approach in making the school in which the students – all of them are so excited about the school that they can hardly wait to get there. Imagine having little or no "discipline problem" because the students are so engaged in their studies that those problems disappear.

Imagine having parents calling, sending notes and coming up to the school to tell you about the dramatic changes they are witnessing in their children; newly found enthusiasm and excitement for school, a desire to work. Imagine your children making exponential growth in their basic skills of reading, writing, speaking, listenting, researching, scientific exploration, maths, multimedia skills and more. This is possible. It can happen; it is happening in schools. It only requires the school and community to come together. Your whole hearted co-operation is required and I am sure that I shall get it.
