World Students’ Day is an event observed every year on October 15, which commemorates the birth anniversary of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, former President of India, renowned scientist, and teacher who was deeply committed to youth and education. Indian School Salalah celebrated the World Students’ Day on Tuesday, 15 Oct 2024 to commemorate Dr. Kalam's numerous achievements, particularly in the areas of academia and research.

Principal Mr. Deepak Patankar, Vice Principal Mr. Mammikutty, AVP Mr. Vipin Das, AVP Mrs. Anita Rose and KG In-charge, Mrs. Anjali Radhakrishnan graced the occasion with their presence. Kindergarten kids celebrated Students' Day as "No Bag Day," where they participated in various classroom activities to enjoy the day. In special assembly, KG teachers and children performed role plays as community helpers.

Master Allan of Class I C was dressed as Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, symbolizing the spirit of education, innovation, and determination. Science department planned a rocket-making activity for Classes 1 & 2. This hands-on activity combined creativity with their science curriculum, fostering an interest in space exploration and innovation. In the special assembly, conducted by the students of Class III & IV, Master Rithwik of Class III G dressed as Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam delivered his speech.  The dance performance by Class IV children enthralled everyone. They enjoyed the class activities i.e. Badge making activity and Book mark preparation mentioning the quotes of Dr. Kalam on World Students’ Day.

The Science Department organized a special programme to celebrate the day. It commenced with the Welcome Speech by Ms. Julie  of class XI D which was followed by an enlightening Digital Symposium on the topic “Threat to earth from space” done by Tridha, Kaavya, Alaysha & Christiya of class XI B. The declamation of Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam by Nicole of IX B and Rithage Savad of XI A gave an insight to the thoughts of the great visionary.

Ms. Evelyn Varughese of class XII A recited a self - composed poem extolling the ‘Missile Man of India’ and his vision for youth. An appealing presentation titled as “Know your countries launching technologies” and Questionnaire by Mubashir- XI D, Sree Raj- XI C,  Gowri Gopakumar- XII A  was highly informative and engaging.  The Video added with the presentations depicted that throughout his life, Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam sought to inspire young people to follow their dreams and contribute to society. Addressing on the occasion, Ms. Nida Hasan, School Councillor advised the students to draw inspiration from Dr. Kalam’s journey of resilience and mental strength. She further added that his legacy reminds us that with determination and a healthy mindset, we can overcome any challenge and achieve our dreams. The momentous occasion came to an end with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Janvi of XI-D.
