September 5th as Teachers’ day commemorates the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, the former President of India, a staunch believer of education, a visionary and above all a perfect Teacher. Teachers’ Day was celebrated at Indian School Salalah on Thursday, 5 Sep 2024 with the sense of respect, appreciation, encouragement and support for teachers’ devotion to their students.
Dr. Abubacker Siddique, President, School Management Committee and esteemed members of SMC, Principal Mr. Deepak Patankar, Vice Principal Mr. Mammikutty, AVP Mr. Vipin Das and KG In-charge, Mrs. Anjali Radhakrishnan graced the occasion with their presence. Mr. Musab Jamal Mohiaddin Member, SMC read the valuable message sent by Dr. Sivakumar Manickam, Chairman, Board of Directors of Indian Schools Oman. It was filled with warm wishes and acknowledgement to the sincere efforts the teachers put in every day.
Tiny tots of KG Section celebrated Teachers' Day with a vibrant assembly. They stole the hearts of the audience, showcasing delightful performances including an action song, a fancy dress tribute to teachers, and a quiz for the teachers. The highlight of the programme was a hula-hoop dance, performed by Ms. Vedhivika Sreejith from UKG F. Vice Principal, Mr. Mammikutty addressed the audience and extended his heartfelt wishes to all the teachers.
The energetic choir of class III & IV sang a euphonious song based on Teachers’ Day which captivated the audience. A sizzling dance drama performed by the students of class III & IV, highlighting the significance of teachers in the society, was really appealing. Addressing on the occasion. Principal, Mr. Deepak Patankar, appreciated the teachers for their hard work and remarked that the world is depending upon the future generation so children should follow the path of knowledge shown by their teachers to get success.
Class VII students conducted an extended morning assembly in the main building dedicated to the teachers. To make the Teacher's Day unique and memorable, class XII students taught and acted as teachers in the classes III to XI to get a fair idea of the responsibility, so efficiently handled by their teachers. Flash Mob was one of the main attractions of the day in which Class XII students amused the audience with a spontaneous dance performance.
Students of Class XII expressed their heartfelt gratitude through their various performances to the dedicated mentors who have shaped their lives. Each of the faculties was given a greeting card as a token of love to show the acknowledgement and recognition of the hard work put by the teachers towards their development, wishing them a Happy Teachers Day. The teachers were visibly moved by the warm gestures and kind words of the Head Girl, Miss Alqama that she delivered in her welcome speech. It was followed by the Musical concert and Jamming Session performed by class XII students to entertain their teachers. They presented a beautiful fusion dance to shower affection and admiration to their teachers. Master Savanth Ganapathi of class XII A recited a self-composed poem extolling the extraordinary efforts of the teachers. In addition to the cultural programme, Class XII organized Speeedy Synapse, a memory game and a Pictionary game in which different team of teachers played together to follow clues, solve riddles and enjoyed the spirit of competition .
Class XII presented a fantastic art work, made by Master Rayan and Master Aaron of XII B, as a token of gratitude to the Principal. It added special charm and beauty to the celebration. The momentous celebration came to an end with the vote of thanks proposed by Cultural Secretaries, Master Issac Shibu and Miss Bhagialakshmi.
