The Investiture Ceremony at Indian School Salalah on 27th August 2024 was held with great enthusiasm and a deep sense of purpose. This significant event marked the induction of the newly elected Students' Council members, who are entrusted with the responsibilities of leadership and service for the 2024-2025 academic year. 


Setting a solemn and inspiring tone, the ceremony began with a spiritually uplifting prayer song by the school choir. 


Gracing the occasion as the chief guest, Dr. Abubacker Siddique, the esteemed President of the School Management Committee attended the proceedings. He was accompanied by Dr. Shaji P. Sreedhar (Treasurer, SMC), Dr. Sanyo Moosa and Mr. Kumar Gopala Iyer (Members, SMC), Principal, Mr. Deepak Patankar, Vice-principal, Mr. Mammikutty, AVPs Mr. Vipindas and Mrs. Anita Rose, teachers, students, and parents.


The newly elected Deputy Head Boy Master Mohammed Saif Hasmeer of class XI-D extended a warm welcome to the chief guest and the gathering. In his speech, Master Mohammed Saif highlighted the significance of the Investiture Ceremony in the academic calendar and emphasized the important responsibilities entrusted to each member of the Students' Council.


Dr. Abubacker Siddique, President of SMC, along with Mr. Deepak Patankar, Principal, formally handed over the School Flag to the elected  School Head Boy  Master Muhammed Shamlal of class XII-B and Miss Alqama of class XII-A  the Head Girl. The newly appointed Boy Captain and Girl Captain of all four houses, namely Amber, Emerald, Sapphire and Coral were given flags and placards bearing their house names by their respective House Masters and Mistresses. Dr. Abubacker Siddique, Mr. Deepak Patankar and other dignitaries presented the newly elected school and house prefects with badges, symbolizing their roles. In the Primary Section, Master Madhusudana Nandisha of class IV-G was appointed as Boy Captain, and Miss Isha Fathima of class IV-C as Girl Captain. They along with other junior prefects were also invested with their badges. The students embraced their new roles with pride and a strong sense of responsibility, marking the beginning of their journey as leaders.


Another highlight of the event was the oath-taking ceremony, where the Head Boy, Head Girl, other council members and all house prefects pledged to uphold the values and traditions of their alma mater. The principal administered the oath, and the council members committed to performing their duties with sincerity, integrity, and dedication.


Dr. Abubacker Siddique, the President of the School Management Committee then gave an inspiring speech that emphasized the importance of leadership, responsibility, and teamwork. He congratulated the newly elected council members and highlighted the significance of their roles as school prefects. He reminded them that their positions are vital, as they are dedicated to serving both their peers and the school community.


Master Muhammed Shamlal, the Head Boy, fondly recalled his time at ISS and expressed his honour at leading his school and fellow students. He vowed to do his best to support them in excelling both academically and in other areas of school life, while calling for everyone's support and cooperation to help him effectively fulfill his responsibilities. Meanwhile, Miss Alqama, the Head Girl, expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the confidence and support she had received. She emphasized the significance of her role and conveyed deep appreciation for the teachers, acknowledging their crucial role in shaping lives. Miss Alqama assured everyone of her unwavering commitment to serving the school with passion and dedication.


The ceremony concluded with the vote of thanks by Deputy Head Girl Miss Christya Ann Johnson of class XI-B. She thanked the school management, principal and staff, students and parents for their support. The event ended with a heartfelt rendition of the National Anthem.


The Investiture Ceremony was a resounding success, instilling a strong sense of responsibility and leadership among the students. The event vividly showcased the school’s dedication to nurturing future leaders who are prepared to contribute meaningfully to the community.
