A Special Assembly was conducted on the 19th of August 2024 to celebrate the 78th Independence Day at the KG Block of Indian School Salalah. The event was graced by Principal Mr. Deepak Patankar, Assistant Vice Principal Mrs. Anita Rose, KG In-Charge Mrs. Anjali Radhakrishnan, Sub-in -charge (English) Mrs. Rachel Philips, Sub-in-charge (Math) Mrs. Meena Venkat, and staff members, all of whom paid tribute to the nation and its freedom fighters.

The celebrations began with a welcome speech and prayer song, followed by a Thought for the Day. Students participated in a speech and reenactment of flag hoisting, depicting a parade in New Delhi and paying tribute to freedom fighters. Children dressed as freedom fighters and recited famous slogans, such as Lokamanya Tilak’s “Swaraj is my birthright and I shall have it.” The event also featured a dance performance by students to a patriotic song. They were dressed beautifully and carried props that represented the colours of the flag and the spirit of freedom.

Mrs. Anita Rose addressed the students, discussing the significance of Independence Day, sharing a related story, and stressing the importance of freedom with responsibilities. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, the National Anthem, and a photograph session with the Principal, AVP, sub-in-charge, Math department teachers, and participants. The day was marked by enthusiasm and a strong sense of national pride.
