Indian School Salalah organized EXPLORA 2024, an exhibition that showcased the creative talents of the students and the dedication of the teachers on 11th May 2024 in Indian School Salalah premises. The event, held on Saturday was a day-long affair that commenced at 9 a.m. and concluded at 5:30 p.m., highlighting the school's commitment to holistic education.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by the chief guest Dr. Abubacker Siddique, President of the School Management Committee accompanied by the members of SMC and Principal Mr. Deepak Patankar. The exhibition began with a soulful prayer song, setting a harmonious tone for the day. The cutting of the ribbon by Dr. Abubacker Siddique  marked the official opening of the exhibition, symbolizing a gateway to a world of knowledge and creativity.

Throughout the day, visitors had the opportunity to explore a myriad of exhibits displayed across various classrooms. Each subject showcased its unique contributions, ranging from models to working prototypes, posters, and charts, all reflecting the depth and diversity of the curriculum.

The exhibition was not just about static displays; it was a dynamic event that included live performances. The Science department showcased many working models (Graff generator, sound wave pendulum, live experiments on DNA) and conducted various exciting scientific experiments from all branches, including biology, chemistry, and physics. Award winning projects by IS Salalah in the recent Science Fair at Dhofar University in Physics and Biology were too displayed. The Mathematics department exhibited working models (Sand model of Pythagoras Theorem) on a wide range of mathematical concepts and conducted math experiments, engaging visitors in the practical application of mathematical concepts. The Computer Science department showcased interesting hi-tech working models and also models on AI. Students dressed up as Humanoid Spohia and Optimus were major attractions. The Social Science Department presented sustainable living concepts through various working models, famous monuments across the world along with cultural dances representing different parts of India. The Commerce department displayed  working models showcasing business and commerce concepts, providing insights into real-world applications.

The English department presented live activities-Poetry café, Character speaks where students recited self-composed poems and portrayed characters from famous literary works and explained working models and vocabulary games also to enhance their understanding of the subject. The model of Shakespeare’s theatre was one of the major attractions. The Malayalam department showcased the culture and traditions of Kerala, pencil sketches of various writers, antique items, rangoli art and traditional dance forms unique to the region. The Hindi department exhibited models and engaged visitors in language games to promote the understanding and appreciation of the language. Students dressed up in attire of famous poets in Hindi literature and recited their poems was major attraction.

The Arabic department showcased Omani culture and traditions, displaying artefacts and providing information in Arabic to educate visitors about the rich heritage of Oman. The French department presented the history of the French language, the culture, traditions of France through informative posters. The model of the world famous Louvre Museum was a major attraction.  The Tamil department with the work of the world famous Thiruvalluvar’s work showcased artefacts representing the rich culture of Tamil Nadu highlighting the heritage and traditions of the region with ‘Poikaal kuthirai’

While the Psychology department delved into different facets of human psychology with their exhibits, the photo gallery of four decades of ISS arranged by Physical education department was a visual treat that took the visitors down the memory lane. While the Music department entertained visitors with live performances of various musical forms and songs, showcasing the talent of the students, the Art department displayed praiseworthy creative works of students, demonstrating their artistic skills and creativity in school quadrangle.

The success of Explora 2024 can be attributed to the hard work and dedication of the teachers and students. Their enthusiasm and commitment was evident in the quality of exhibits and performances, which were nothing short of exceptional. In conclusion, Explora 2024 was a testament to Indian School Salalah's commitment in providing a holistic learning environment that nurtures creativity, innovation, and excellence. It was a day filled with learning, creativity, and celebration, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
