The International Day of Tolerance is celebrated on the 16th of November every year. The day is meant to promote mutual acceptance, understanding and respect among all the diverse cultures and communities across the globe.
The primary wing (classes 1 and 2) of Indian School Salalah celebrated Tolerance Day to encourage students to practice patience and tolerance in their everyday lives. The day started with the morning assembly highlighting the importance of the day. Class teachers demonstrated the importance of the day in their classes through various activities. The children made beautiful badges with meaningful quotes on tolerance and proudly pinned it on their uniform.
A classroom group activity was conducted in the class. The children were divided into four groups and were asked to draw flowers with eight petals each petal carrying a word related to tolerance. Children coloured the petals and they were asked to write a common message on the petals about tolerance.
On this special occasion the students learnt that mutual respect and treating others with dignity is a very important value and must be inculcated.
