Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir hosted the CBSE Oman Cluster Basketball Tournament for the Academic Year 2023-24 on 16 and 17 October 2023. The tournament provided students with a platform to exhibit their athletic abilities and competitive spirit.
Nineteen teams comprising nine teams of boys and ten teams of girls from various schools across Oman participated in the tournament. Indian School Salalah was represented by a dedicated and skilled team competing in the Under 19 Girls’ category. The team exhibited exceptional skills and teamwork throughout the tournament.
In the quarter-final round, the Indian School Salalah Basketball Team demonstrated remarkable prowess by securing a resounding victory over Indian School Al Seeb with a convincing score of 22-6.
The semi-final match was a testament to the determination of the ISS team. The girls went head-to-head against Indian School Al Ghubra, demonstrating great skill. Despite a valiant effort, the ISS team fell short, scoring 13-25. Consequently, the team ISS secured the 2nd runner-up position in the tournament.
The school administrators acknowledged the efforts taken by Mr. Farhan and for accompanying the team. President Dr. Abubacker Siddique, members of the School Management Committee and Principal Mr. Deepak Patankar extended their appreciation and congratulated the Physical Education Department and the Basketball team for their exceptional accomplishment. Indian School Salalah fraternity commends the efforts of the students and the coach for their hard work and dedication and looks forward to continued success in future sporting events.
