Commemorating the birth anniversary of the noted Indian philosopher, educationist and statesman, Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, Indian school Salalah celebrates Teacher’s Day every year where the teacher is thanked and the spirit of teaching earns appreciation and accolades by means of special efforts put up by the students in honour of them. The Teacher’s Day was celebrated with incredible gusto and grace on 5 September 2023 at Indian School Salalah. Principal, Mr. Deepak Patankar, Vice Principal Mr. Mammikutty, AVP, Mrs. Anita Rose and Mr. Vipin Das, KG In-charge, Mrs. Anjali Radhakrishnan and the teachers graced the occasion with their presence.

On this special occasion, young talents from the Kindergarten stole the hearts of the audience, showcasing a delightful array of performances, including dance, action songs, and heart touching speeches. All the teachers of K.G. Section joined in a lively "birdie dance" with the tiny tots, adding to the joyous atmosphere of celebration. Highlighting the importance of the day, children of Class III & IV conducted a special assembly at K.G. Block for their teachers. To wish their beloved teachers, they presented a skit. The skit projected the journey of a student that starts with the first teacher, their mother and ends when they reach higher classes and achieve their desired goals. Class IV students mesmerized the audience with their sizzling group song and dance performance.

Class XI students conducted a vibrant morning assembly in the main building dedicated to the teachers. The day began with the mock session of teaching in classes V to VIII, where class XII students taught  as teachers to get a fair idea of the responsibility, so efficiently handled by their teachers. Flash Mob was one of the main attractions of the day in which Class XII students amused the audience with a spontaneous dance performance. They organized Teacher’s Day special celebration in last two periods to express their love and affection to their teachers. The programme commenced with the welcome address by Miss Utthara followed by the medley singing performance through which Senior students expressed their deep gratitude to the teachers in their own rhythmic way. On this occasion, students of XII organized a few games like picture puzzle, guess the voice and thread the needle to make the programme alive for the teachers. The spectacular and energetic solo singing performance by Ms Sanchita of Class XII with the music band enthralled everyone. The young musicians captivated the audience with their enchanting blend of harmonious beats.

Principal, Mr. Deepak Patankar, in his speech, expressed his words of appreciation to both teachers as well as students and  reminded Class XII students to focus on their academics as their academic success will be the best gift from them to their teachers. Addressing the audience on the occasion, Vice Principal Mr. Mammikutty, AVP, Mr. Vipin Das and Mrs. Anita Rose wished the teaching fraternity and they highlighted the significant role of teachers in students’ life. The momentous celebration came to an end with the vote of thanks proposed by Miss Fizza and Master Adhwaith.
