Indian School Salalah celebrated the Festival of Harvest, Onam on Monday 28th August 2023 with great vigour and enthusiasm. The teachers dressed in traditional Kerala attire celebrated together with hearts full of joy to celebrate the vibrant and culturally rich festival of Onam.
The celebration kicked off with the sumptuous meal, the Onam Sadhya in combination with a beautiful rendition by our dear teachers, Mr. Hareesh and Mrs. Bindhukala. It was undoubtedly a feast both to the ears and palate.
The celebration was then followed by graceful Thiruvathira dance by the teachers. The traditional dance enhanced the vibe of the celebration. Musical Chair and Lemon and Spoon race kept the enthusiasm of the celebration alive. Mrs. Mini and Mr. Sinu of the Malayalam faculty were the proud winners of these fun-filled competitions. Pookalam, the beautiful flower rangoli that adorned the School Quadrangle made this Onam Celebration a memorable one.
The President, Dr. Abubacker Siddique , Treasurer, Dr. Shaji P.Sreedhar, Members of SMC-Mr.Mohammad Jabir Shareef and Mr.Arun Raj. Principal, Vice- Principal wished each and everyone and congratulated the organisers for coming up with such a splendid celebration.
The celebration came to an end with each one getting immersed in the heart and soul of Kerala's culture. They carried with them the spirit of Onam in their hearts - the spirit of togetherness, humility, and the joy of giving.
