ALUMNI MEET – JEYANSH 2021 HELD AT INDIAN SCHOOL SALALAH

Marking excitement, entertainment and expectation, JEYANSH 2021, the Alumni Meet of Indian School Salalah was held online through digital platform on 6 February, 2021 at 5 pm.

A video presentation of lighting of lamp gave an auspicious start to the meet. The video presentation titled ‘Video with Jeyansh 2021’ highlighted the salient features of the meet.

To start the occasion on an auspicious note, school choir presented a heart-touching invocation song. Mr. Anto Lalu, faculty in Economics welcomed the gathering.

Reminiscing their old yet memorable school days, the spectacular ‘Video of Memories' made all the alumni closer to their memories they cherished at their alma mater.

Alumni Mr. Jasmeet Singh Konsal, the first head boy of the school, Dr. Kuryakose Joseph and Ms. Reshmi Soans spoke on the occasion sharing their experiences in their adult life as well as interesting moments of their school days. It was a special moment of celebration when alumnus Mr. Ashish Samtani and alumnae Ms. Ayana Sara Shaji and Mrs. Devi Krishna sang beautiful songs. An audio visual presentation highlighted the alumni spread around the globe with very good positions in their career.

 Re-awakening alumni’s memories of their lovely teachers, an entertaining and enthralling session, the ‘Tag Line’- a rapid round of guess the teacher- was held by Mr. Parvinder Singh, faculty of Physical Education.

During the meet, convener and deputy-conveners of alumni meet 2021 were announced. Mr. Unnikrishnan, HOD, Social Sciences was announced as the convener of ‘Jeyansh’ for the year 2021 and Mr. Parvinder Singh, Mrs. Ponni Bhaskar, Mr. Anto Lalu and Mr. Showkat Ali to represent various batches from 1993 to 2020 as deputy-conveners.

Dr. Syed Ahsan Jamil, President, School Management Committee and  Principal, Mr. Deepak Patankar wholeheartedly participated in the meet through an interactive session in which both of them communicated with the audience sharing about the essence - vision and objectives - of alumni meet – Jeyansh. Speaking on this occasion, the President, SMC highlighted the basic requirements for having an alumni association at school, where as the principal reiterated that school would give its alumni ample opportunities for their interaction and guidance for the students. The interactive session was well convened  by Mrs. Renu Jethin, faculty in English.

The virtual alumni meet – Jeyansh 2021 well anchored by the students, came to its closure when alumnus Mr. Sameer Ahmed proposed vote of thanks.

Attending the alumni meet proved to be a very nostalgic and gratifying experience for the alumni as they virtually met their batchmates and teachers.
