INDIAN SCHOOL SALALAH REOPENS
AFTER A LONG BREAK DUE TO COVID -19
Indian School Salalah commenced regular schooling on Sunday, 10th January 2021, for its students after a long break due to the COVID-19 pandemic as per the decision of the Supreme Committee and following the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Education for schools in Oman.
Initially, class XII Science batches attended the school for their Science and Computer Science practical sessions. For the commencement of the sessions, school has taken various precautionary measures to ensure safety and security of each child and the staff attending school.
As its part school asked students and staff to furnish Self Declaration Health form, and provided guidelines and SOP to be followed while attending the sessions. At school, under the able guidance of Dr. Syed Ahsan Jameel, President of the School Management Committee and his team in SMC along with Mr. Deepak Patankar, Principal made all the necessary arrangements to have the students and staff in the premises taking Corona Virus threat in consideration. Mr. Jose Kaviyil Chacko, Chairman, Academic Committee, Dr. Ambu Suresh, Chairman, Safety Transport, HSE Committee and Mrs. Harmit Pal, member SMC were present at the moment and inspired students with their gracious presence.
Staff were assigned at the main gate to monitor each student. Their body temperature was measured and recorded and ensured that they had all the protective measures like gloves, face shield mask and hand sanitizer. The school also arranged facilities for isolation, First Aid, ambulance etc. in case of emergency.
Mr. Deepak Patankar, Principal, in a special assembly welcomed the students and wished them all the very best for their sessions and expressed his gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tariq for his generosity. A two-minute silence was also observed paying homage to the former His Majesty Late Sultan Qaboos Bin Said on his first death anniversary before the commencement of the session.
