GEARING UP FOR BOARD EXAMS 2021- INTERACTIVE SESSION
The Covid 19 pandemic has utterly disrupted the education system around the world. But with the emergence of effective online classes, learning is not hampered and Indian School Salalah is able to provide essential service to its students. Grade X students are all set to gear up for the upcoming CBSE Board Examination 2020-21. To overcome the anxiety of the students and to help them out with a proper and systematic study plan, Indian School Salalah under the able guidance of Principal Mr. Deepak Patankar, organised a virtual Interactive Session for the students of class X with a panel of experts from various departments of the school.
The session commenced with the address of Principal Mr.Deepak Patankar to the students. He highlighted that the session would definitely help the students to gain confidence to face the Board Exams in a positive way. Tips for effective learning and preparation of each subject were given by the respective subject experts. Mr. C T Ramasamy, Head of the Department of English advised the students to respect the timetable that they prepare for their studies, follow it systematically and also to pay attention to the explanation given by the teacher. Mr. Latheesh, faculty, Mathematics Department stressed on the fact that practicing and solving each and every question in the NCERT text is essential. He also suggested solving maximum number of questions papers prior to the Board Exam for gaining speed and better understanding. To score well in science, Mrs. Ananthalakshmi, Assistant Vice Principal and Mrs. Prema, In Charge of the Science Department instructed the students to focus on the basic concepts and be crystal clear with the textbook. Upon enquiring on how to get rid of the fear of learning Physics, Mr. Jojesh, faculty, Science Department clearly stated that the practice of neglecting a subject throughout the year and then taking it up at the last moment should be eluded by the students. He also added that students should ‘Believe their teachers’ as no teacher would like to put their students into trouble. “If you want to shine like the sun, then burn like the sun.” Mr. Unnikrishnan, Head of the Social Science Department quoted these words, to emphasize the need of an organised and systematic learning for excellent scores. The School Counsellor, Ms Smitha accentuated on being smart learners and asked the students to compete to their own self, once they realize their potential.
The moderators for the session, Mr. Binoy CA and Mrs Renu Jethin, faculties, Department of English posted the queries of the students to the panel of subject experts and they in turn cleared all the uncertainties and concerns of the students by giving them prompt and proper guidelines. Overall the session was very fruitful.
