INDIAN SCHOOL SALALAH CELEBRATED VISHWA HINDI DIVAS

Hindi is the widely spoken language all over the world. The first World Hindi Conference was organized in Nagpur on 10 January 1975 with the aim of promoting the language worldwide. The celebration of the first World Hindi Day commenced on 10 January 2006 by former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Since then, it has been celebrated on 10th January every year to promote and propagate Hindi at the global stage and spread the greatness of the language.

 

            To mark this occasion Indian School Salalah celebrated Vishwa Hindi Divas on 9th January 2020. The day started with special assemblies for middle and primary section. Students of V to VIII attended the middle assembly which started with a prayer song in Hindi. It was followed by the speech in which Mansi Gururani of class XI highlighted the importance and the beauty of Hindi language.  On this occasion students of classes VI and class IX presented a wonderful one act play ‘Siksha ka Mahatva’ which highlighted the importance of education. Principal Deepak Patankar, AVP Mrs. Anantha Lakshmi and HODs of various departments graced the occasion with their presence.

            The primary assembly  commenced with the prayer song “Tumhi ho mata, pita tumhi ho” to invoke the Almighty’s blessings. Principal Mr. Deepak Patankar, the Head of the Hindi Department Mr. Balasubramanian and Primary Section In-charge Ms. Anita Rose graced the occasion. Huda 3J and Syed Ayman 3H delivered the speech on the relevance of the day. Ibrahim 4G and Manasvi 4A presented the news headlines. Word for the day was “vishv”.  Anandita of 3A recited the poem “Ganga kibaatkyakaru” which represents not just a river but the women’s struggles towards the pursuit of happiness. She indeed kept everyone present in the auditorium spellbound with her fascinating eloquence. She had bagged the first prize for this poem recitation in Muscat during the Talent Fest 2019. The skit “AathmaVishwas Ki Taaqat” by the students of Classes 3 to 6 depicted the challenges of Tiffany Brar who overcame her disability and made a difference in the lives of visibly challenged  and founded ‘Jyothirgamaya (which means "leading to light") a mobile school for the blind. Addressing the audience, Mr. Balasubramanian, the Head of the Hindi Department emphasized on speaking Hindi, as it is not only the national language of India but also the third most spoken language in the world.

            On this occasion debate in Hindi on the topic ‘The impact of social media among the young people’ was organized by Hindi Department. Mr. PramodPanikar, Senior teacher in the department coordinated the programme in which students of class XI showcased their extraordinary debating skill. This was followed by Hindi Language quiz for class V to VIII students.

The celebration concluded with the National Anthem.
