Indian School Salalah participated in CBSE Oman cluster inter school chess tournament held in Muscat hosted by Indian School Al Maabela On September 12th. In the tournament, ISS competed against 14 schools and the chess prodigies of Indian School Salalah displayed a brilliant mind game that made them win the U 11 championship for the second time in a row without losing a single game.
To add to the victory, in U 14 category ISS won the Runners Up trophy and in U 17 they shared the same points with the second runner up team but with the tie break rule, they were placed fourth.
The highlight of our victorious performance was two of our players Mast Dhayanesh Vinodh of class V and Mast A. Arutchelvan Egan of class VI won the board prize for getting maximum points.
The school management and Principal acknowledged the efforts of the coach Mr. Parvinder Singh (PE faculty) and congratulated the efforts of the winning Chess team of ISS.
