INDIAN SCHOOL SALALAH MANAGEMENT FELICITATE THE TEACHERS

 

SALALAH: The Management Committee of Indian School Salalah, organised a function to appreciate and recognize the valuable contributions made by the teachers in shaping the minds of the future citizens of the world. The occasion was presided over by Dr.Debashish C Bhattacharya, the president of the school management committee, amidst the gracious presence of other members of the management committee.

Principal Mr. T. R. Brown welcomed the management committee and the school staff. In his welcome address, Mr. T.R. Brown called upon the teachers to transform themselves and get professionally equipped and adapted to cater to the needs of the future generation. He reminded the teachers that ‘teaching’ should be their first love, which demands a lot of commitment and scarifice.

Dr. Syed AhsanJamil, school academic committee chairman, addressed the gathering on the topic ‘teachers and challenges in teaching’. He appreciated the teachers for their commitment and tireless effort in preparing nation builders. He emphasized on the importance of the three mantras for productive teaching- effective communication, passion for reflection and the ability to transform oneself.

The evening became fun filled and colourful with a few games and entertainment programmes  by the teachers and members of the management committee. On behalf of the SMC, Dr. K.A Nishthar sang a few evergreen melodies.

On this occasion, a number of teaching and non teaching staff were felicitated in recognition of their long service, good results, dedicated service and praise-worthy performances. Thirty eight teachers were also recognized for hundred percent attendance to work. The ‘award ceremony’ was flagged off with an inspiring, informative and enriching address by the school president, Dr. Debashish C. Bhattacharya. He acknowledged his appreciation towards the teachers and expressed his gratitude for their contribution in the growth of humanity. He opined that education makes a person viable for the competitive world. On this occasion, he appraised the gathering regarding the ongoing and proposed developmental action plans of the management committee in diverse areas such as CPD training, Digitalization of the classrooms and a number of welfare initiatives and incentives for the staff. He congratulated the Malayalam, Arabic and Hindi departments for their initiatives in respective language week celebration. Arabic department won special appreciation for the colourful and effervescent National Day(Oman) celebration.In his address, Dr. DebashishC Bhattacharya reiterated his commitment and support to provide an excellent working atmosphere for the teachers of ISSalalah.

The teachers who produced excellent results in class 12 board exams were felicitated in the award function. Mr. Chidambaram Ramasamy (AVP Academics &HOD English), MrsRachel Abraham and Mr.Royi TA (faculties, English Dept) received the award for excellent results in English. Excellent results in Mathematics fetched the awards for Mr. Srinivasan (Assistant vice principal-Admin& PGT Maths). Mrs. Anita Rose (Informatics Practices), MrsAswathy and Mr. Mukesh Mohan (Accountancy)  received the award.  The teachers of class X-Arabic (Mr. Sowcat Ali, Mr. Kaleeluddin), Hindi(Mr. Balasubramanian, Dr. Kamaluddin), Malayalam(Mr. Saji, Mrs. Maya P Nair), French(Pramod Kumar), Maths (Mr. Antony, Mrs. SaralaV,Mr. Narayanan Kutty, Mr. Latheesh C, Mrs. Kalpana Jacob), Science (Mr. Jojesh, Mr. Shinoj, Ms. GeetSolanki, Mrs. Bincy T, Mrs. Ananthalakshmi , Mr. Sam T V, Mrs. Kavitha R, Mr. SunitGarg, Mrs. Prema, Mrs. Subha T S, Mrs. ShinuSoni)  and Social Science (Mr. Vipindas, Mr. Unnikrishnan, Mr. Samuel John, Mr. Umeshan, Mrs. Rosily Wilson)  were awarded for producing excellent results.

A number of staff received gold coins and memento for their long services ranging from 10 to 35 years.Mrs. SrilaBiju, Mrs. Yasmine P Abdullah, Mrs. AjithaVipindas,Mrs. Sreedevi Das M, Mr. K R Ramachandran, Ms. Eiman Khalil Ramadan,Mr. Salem HadidMarzookShajanah received it for completing ten years,  Mr. C T Ramasamy( AVP academic) and Mr. NobinGopi(A.O) received it for completing 15 years, Mrs. Sindhu Gopal, Mrs. Anjali Vijayakumar, Mr. Babu C.P and Mr. Chandraiah for completing 20 years, MrParvinder Singh received it for his 25 years of service. The momentous one in this category was for 35 years of service, received by Vice Principal, MrsOmana Mathews and senior science teacher Mr.MonciPappachan. As a mark of tribute for their invaluable contribution to the school, the duowere given a standing ovation. She gave her best wishes to the staff and students and expressed her hope to see it doing better.

In the other categories, Mr.Ganesh, Mrs Anita Rose and MrsPushkala S. were  honoured for bringing laurels to the school with their dedicated service in the Jhankar Spectrum while the CCA coordinators MrBinoy C.A and MrVipindas were honoured for their distinctive contributions in the conduct of the CCA. Mr. Samuel John( Middle school in Charge), and non-teaching staff Mr. Krishna Kumar, MrMahendran and Mr. Babu C.P. were recognised for their additional work. In addition to this, Mr. Samuel E. John, Mr. Saji.K, Mrs. Subha T.S., Mrs. PalakTakur, Mrs. RekhaPrashant, Mrs. Sabeena, Mrs. PonniBaskar, Mrs. Rajapushpam, Mrs. Sheela Nair, Mrs. SaiPriya, Ms.Saida Al Balushi and Mr. GhanimShaabanSalimwere awarded for their praise worthy performance.

After the awards, Dr. Syed AshanJamil-Chairman, Academic sub committee announced to the staff that from next academic year the best class teachers and the subject excellence will be conferred with awards. To add to these awards, the President of SMC, Dr. Debashish.C. Bhattacharya announced that award will be given to the best HOD also from next year.

Principal Mr T.R Brown anchored formal part of the programme while the staff secretary, Mr. Kamal Uddin Khan, took over  the entertainment segment of the evening.

MrsSarala Vijay Kumar, the lady staff secretary, proposed vote of thanks and this was followed by a sumptuous dinner.
