ENVIRONMENT DAY AND GREEN DAY CELEBRATION 2019-20

Green Day Celebration – The colour of Prosperity and Harmony

The colour GREEN symbolizes nature and Life. Kindergarten section of Indian School Salalah celebrated Environment day and Green day on 30th May 2019 with great zeal and enthusiasm. The main aim of celebrating colour day was to introduce the colour to the tiny tots. Thestudents and teachers came to school dressed in pretty green attires and looked eco friendly. The classrooms and corridors were beautifully decorated with green balloons and all the green objects brought from a child’s immediate surroundings. Kindergarten students were taught the identification and recognition of green fruits, vegetables and trees. Few students were dressed as live models of green fruits and vegetables like raw mangoes, grapes, capcicum, cauliflower, banana, green apple and spoke about them in the assembly.

Green fruits and green vegetables were also displayed in the activity room.  They also explained the importance of planting trees and how to keep our Mother earth clean. Acts of green conveyed the message that we should not cut trees and plant more and more trees. Children brought green snacks and eatables in their Tiffin box.

The day was graced by the esteemed presence of our Acting Principal, Dr. S. Srinivasan, Vice Principal (Academics) Dr. Sivaparasad Murugan and Kindergarten Incharge Ms. Reenu Davis.

The programme began with the prayer song to the almighty seeking to shower his blessings to make the earth evergreen which was then followed by an Action song “Save Mother Earth”

The highlight of this celebration was the little speakers who stepped forward with zeal and confidence to spoke on the significance of green colour and Mother Earth.

At last the Kindergarten teachers and students lead Acting Principal Dr. S..Srinivasan, Vice Principal (Academics) Dr. Sivaprasad Murugan and Kindeergarten Incharge Ms. Reenu Davis for the tree plantation drive to the main school ground which was the highlight of the day. Green day was practical learning experience for the children and was an enjoyable day for the kids.

To make our parents more active and lively with the school, Parent child activity was also planned for 30th May 2019.To save electricity we have asked the parents to have Candle light dinner with the family tonight to save Mother Earth.
