UNION BUDGET RECREATED BY COMMERCE CLUB AT INDIAN SCHOOL SALALAH

A successful nation functions on a meticulously planned Union Budget by the government. Finance minister Piyush Goyal on Friday, 1st Feb 2019 presented the much awaited Union Budget in Lok Sabha, India. Taking inspiration from this event Commerce Club at Indian School Salalah too had a budget session conducted at Indian School Salalah on 5th February 2019.

Students of class XI recreated the Indian Union Budget 2019-20 in a creative way. The Programme was graced by Principal Mr. T R Brown, Vice principal- Administration Dr. Srinivasan , Vice Principal-Academics Dr. Sivaprasad ,  Assistant Vice Principal senior Section, Mr C T Ramasamy and  Assistant Vice Principal Middle Section,  Mrs. Ananthalakshmi.

The Programme commenced with the welcome address by Miss Shirin Shafana who also threw light on what budget is and why is it important for a country which was then followed by a PowerPoint presentation made by Master Adil and Mast Sameer. Miss Claudia Julius then explained briefly the process of budgeting and how it is presented in the Indian Parliament. A video was then shown on how the budget was presented on 01 February 2019 in the Parliament by Finance minister Piyush Goyal. Following this was the live recreation of the Indian Budget Union 2019-20.
The honorable speaker of the LokSabha Shri Sumitra Mahajan’s role was enacted by Miss. This was followed by a live news podcast presented by Master Abdullah Syed and a team of students. Students made it feel like a real news channel being telecasted.  They even asked online questions and answered them, clearing all the ambiguity amongst the audience. Then was the last scene where the parliament discussion took place and the pros and cons of the Union Budget of 2019-20 were presented.
