VALEDICTORY FOR CLASS XII ORGANIZED AT INDIAN SCHOOL SALALAH

Indian School Salalah organized Valedictory Function for its outgoing batch of class 12 at a grandiose occasion here at school premises on Saturday evening, the 17th February, 2018. The guest for the evening and key-note speaker Mr. Ajay Ganti, the CEO, Al Seeb Technical Establishment SARCO, LLC, Dr. Debashish C. Bhattacharya, the President, SMC, Mr. T. R. Brown, the Principal and Dr. SyedAhsanJamil, the convenor and Chairman, Academic Sub-committe for the function in ceremonial gowns along with other esteemed members of SMC were escortedto the seats assigned for them. Adding a colourful ambience to the function, all the valedictorians in their graduation gowns gave an elegant look.

Mrs. Rachel Abraham, faculty, English in her introductory note gave a cordial welcome to the guest and key-note speaker Mr. Ajay Ganti, the CEO, Al Seeb Technical Establishment SARCO, LLC. School Head Boy, Master HridithSudev and Head Girl, Miss. RitikaRaju presented a bouquet to him. Mrs. Rachel Abraham also expressed her elation over the benign presence of Dr. Debashish C. Bhattacharya, the President, SMC, Mr. T. R. Brown, the Principal, esteemed members, SMC, staff, parents and students.

In reverence to knowledge as the greatest of all forms of wealth, the guest Mr. Ajay Ganti, Dr. Debashish C. Bhattacharya, the President, SMC, Mr. T. R. Brown, the Principal, Dr. SyedAhsanJamil, the convenor, SMC and Mr. Vinay Kumar, the Treasurer lit the ceremonial lamp.

Dr. SyedAhsanJamil, the convenor, SMC while addressing the studentsasked them to be goal oriented for making the best out of their career and profession. He quoted the famous saying “God helps those who help themselves” to stress that they need to strive hard to be able to achieve the goals they set for themselves.

The guest and key-note speaker Mr. Ajay Ganti in order to motivate students shared his personal experiences and told them that they must work, understand, learn, enjoy, be passionate what do they do in life; success is the byproduct of it. Speaking about application of knowledge in career, he gave them the basic life mantra– have the greed to learn more than to earn more. To make it clear what failure is in life, he quoted Winston Churchill and exhorted them to learn from their failure and move forward. Concluding his valedictory address, Mr. Ajay Ganti, mentioned three – ‘i’s: information, innovation and integrity which are going to rule the coming decades and they decide the success of a person.

Speaking on the occasion the Vice-principal, Mrs. Omana Mathews focused on students’ academic excellence over the years and gave them necessary tips to score better in the forthcoming board examination. In addition to this, Mrs. Mathews spoke about the necessity to have a worthy goal for them and shared her dreams which they need to fulfill for their parents, teachers and their alma mater.

Dr. Debashish C. Bhattacharya, the President, SMC rather liked to portray the real world where the outgoing batch of ISS is going to step in. Dr. Debashish, asking them never to give up, stressed on the term‘re-engineering’ in connection with success and failure in career. He further made them understand the role of father and mother in their lives and said, “Don’t let these two wonderful professors elude you from giving you magical, emotional casserole in your life which can work wonders”. On this valedictory day, the President urged the students to give their contact mail ids to form the alumni association desired & proposed for quite some time now.

Mr. T. R. Brown, the Principal spoke about the difference that the students are going to make in their lives in future. “What is very important’, he said, “we need to build in them skills and values”. The principal, then mentioning about the difficulties and obstacles that one faces in life, explained three very important aspects of life: ignorance, indifference and jealousy and insisted them to overcome the wall of ignorance, the wall of indifference and the wall of jealousy to experience peace, prosperity and happiness in life.

After the valedictory addresses, the venue then witnessed the most auspicious part of the function- candle lighting ceremony in which each student lighted candle - symbol of wisdom -from their Principal, Mr. T. R. Brown. Meanwhile citations were read out by Mr. C. T. Ramasamy, AVP (Academics), Mrs. Rachel Abraham, Mr. Royi T. A. and Mrs. TabassumFarhan (Faculties, English Dept). The guest Mr. Ajay Ganti, Dr. Debashish C. Bhattacharya, the President, SMC and Dr. SyedAhsanJamil, the convenor, SMC gave away mementos and citations to the students. The melodious ‘Congratulatory song’ by Music Dept with senior teachers added more festivity and solemnity to the function.

Master HridithSudev (Head Boy), Miss. RitikaRaju (Head Girl), Master Mohd.AsimShaikh, Miss. Akhila Suresh and Miss. Shikhain their extremely emotional speeches shared their nostalgic reminiscences of their pleasant days they spent at Indian School Salalah. They expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Management, Principal, Administrative staff, teachers for their continuous support provided to their both scholastic and non-scholastic endeavours at school.

Memento – a token of love and gratitude - was presented to the guest and key-note speaker Mr. Ajay Ganti by Dr. Debashish C. Bhattacharya, the President, SMC and Mr. T. R. Brown, the Principal.

Mrs. Ananthalakshmi, AVP (Middle School) and faculty, Chemistry proposed vote of thanks. She expressed her profuse gratitude to the guest, President and members of SMC, Principal and his subordinates, teaching and non-teaching staff, parents and students of class XII for their graceful presence on the solemn occasion. The function was followed by the photo session and a lavish dinner.
