President's Message
Indian School Salalah

"Actions should always speak Louder than words" As I, in all humility and Gratitude accept the mantle of Presidency of Management Committee of Indian School Salalah, A nearly 4700 strong student populated Temple of learning, I feel respectful and seeped in Gratitude to all my past predecessors of the erstwhile management Teams who have left such a rich legacy and path for me to tread forward .Success of an institution is not the handiwork of a single persona but always a crystallization of efforts of an entire team of stakeholders in due earnest & diligence to emanate the aroma of excellence.

Indian School Salalah in the last three and half decades has been nurtured from a fledgling school started by Mr Morarji Bhai Dossa with kind benevolence of HM Sultan Qaboos Bin Said (The most Benevolent Sultan of Oman) to cater to the basic needs of expatriate Indian diaspora of Salalah to a colossal institution of learning & Knowledge producing capable students travelling all around the World for higher learning and subsequently professional engagements. This is a complex process of transformation which involves active participation of the teachers, Students, Parents and Finally the Management. The Schooling process and the system of Education has undergone a sea of change in the Modern times where importance is not just given to the marks alone but also to the overall competence of the child in handling the pressures of professional courses. The curricula and prospectus has also been intensified to much higher levels of learning and comprehension abilities in tandem with the media savvy age of modern times.

As The President of the School, I hereby request the kind participation of all the stake holders of the school in collective application of their resources in a positive manner to bring about the best in our children. In this journey we may falter or encounter difficulties which should be cautioned by positive supportive criticism from one and all rather than an attempt to persecution as We must always remember that We have only ONE school catering to all our children's academic needs at Salalah and we always need to protect its image and aura so that our Children feel proud to say wherever they go that "ISS is my ALMA MATER". God Bless Indian School Salalah and every soul who is working tirelessly in true devotion to enhance our children's academic tenure in our beloved School.

Dr Debashish Bhattacharya
School Management Committee
