Examination & Promotion

  • For promotion to the next class, a child should have attended minimum 75% of the total number of working days of his/her class in the school.
  • Students of LKG, UKG, Class I and II will be assessed continuously and no examination will be conducted for them.
  • Students of Class III to VIII will have two terms. Three periodic tests will be conducted in each term. Average of the best two tests will be calculated and assigned for Periodic Test marks.
  • Students of Class IX & X will be assessed four times in an academic year (Pre-Midterm, Midterm, Post-Midterm & Final Examination).
  • Final Examinations for Class III to IX will be held in March & for Class XI will be held in Feb.
  • Final Examination for Class X and XII will be conducted by CBSE in March/April and results will be declared at the end of May or in the beginning of June.
  • For appearing in the Final examination, all the school dues should be cleared by 20th of February.
  • Students using or attempting to use unfair means in any test/examination will be awarded zero in the entire test/examination.
  • Students remaining absent in the assessment will not be awarded any marks.
  • For General Proficiency award, actual marks secured by the student will be taken into account. A student who remains absent in any assessment will not be eligible for General Proficiency Award.
  • Weightage for the Assessments for Class III to X is as follows:

  • A pupil should appear for all the assessments and secure minimum 35% marks in each scholastic Subject.
  • The student who secures less than 35% marks in one subject will be allowed to appear for an improvement Examination.
  • Promotion to Class XII will be decided on the basis of the following.
    1. To be promoted to the next class a student should secure minimum 35% marks in each of the five scholastic subjects in the third Term Examination and in subject aggregate (Unit Test 20%, I Term 15% II Term 25%, III Term 40%)
    2. A student should also secure the Grade above E in all the non-scholastic subjects.
    3. A student should secure minimum 35% marks in theory and practical examinations separately, if the subject involves practical.
    4. A student will be allowed to appear for an Improvement Examination in any one of the five scholastic subjects, if he/ she secures less than 35% in that subject and gets minimum 40% marks in aggregate.
    5. A nine-point scale is followed for converting marks into letter grade for classes XI and XII. The grades are derived from actual score of the student. The nine grades are awarded after rank ordering all the students in the class.
